JaketheGinger

There are a few Jakes on this website. I'm the ginger one.

Now forgiven for her past transgressions, life is going better than Sunset could have possibly dreamt of. With her best friends by her side, she's burning brighter than ever.

What she didn't realize is how that same flame could spark up and hurt others, in a manner she thought she had long since buried away.

Well, that was sweet. Good story, but not enought to give the fave.

Still I give it an upvote.

This seems familiar. Did you adapt this from one of your Writeoff entries?

In any case, it's a nice bit of character interaction, but only a bit. About half of the story is movie recap, while the rest hinges on something we're only shown, namely Dash's quick acceptance of Sunset. Seeing that would've reinforced the connection between them... though it might have been tricky to pull that off without feeling redundant. Hmm.

I guess what I'm saying is that I want to see more. We're getting emotional payoff without setup, and that's never as satisfying it is with proper establishment.

Yeah, it is! Took me a while though because a lot of the feedback I got for it was basically show don't tell and while editing and changing this, that was quite a challenge.

Well, I'd like to write more romantic SunDash... so I'll probably go much deeper into it when/if that time comes!

I always hated this scene because it tried to make me think even for a second that Sunset wasn't absolutely right. Twilight was almost a dizzying level of ignorant in this movie. It took 6 occurrences for her to realize that maybe she should fucking quit it with the goddamn pendant. And what? Because the person who obviously knows what's going on gets upset with you and all the mistakes you've made that endangered several lives, you're gonna run away and not ask questions? For fucks sake, all she wanted was answers, and the one person who could help her is right there, and she runs off like a child trying to avoid a spanking.

I get that Sunset blew her top, but damn if it wasn't justified. She has every right to be angry at the situation. And up to this point it's all been Twilight's fault. What kind of goddamn scientist is she? "I don't understand something, so the best thing to do is fuck with it a bunch". Goddammit. I don't say it a lot, but I could've done that entire plotline so much better. And all it takes is some shifting and a removal of the idiot ball that Twilight grabs onto for dear life.

Good story though.

This is a nice insight fanfic in one of the scenes in Friendship Games. I wish there was more stories that deals with Sunset apologizing Sci-Twi after that heated rebuke.
So far, this one is close to what I wanted. -> [Link]

Still give it a thumbs up anyway. :raritywink:

“No. No it wasn’t that,” Sunset said. She shook her head, then looked at her friends. They were out of earshot but their worried expressions were easily readable all the same. “I was scared that’d I lose you.”
“Oh.” Rainbow wrapped an arm around her. Her voice dropped a bit, becoming much quieter than usual. “Look, we’re not going anywhere. We’re all too awesome for that, especially when we have each other.”

Ok, you are talking about Sunset being afraid of lose Rainbow or losing all her friends?
just confused there, 'cuz of

“I was scared that’d I lose you.”

and

''We’re all too awesome for that, especially when we have each other.”

Each other we use for two ppl
If you are talking about all of them, then you should use one another..
Just confused there

So this is kinda like a scene that wasn't but should've been put in friendship games?
:ajsmug: Ok, I see you.

This is the reason Sunset and Dash are my BroTP. :rainbowkiss:

7399740 Hmm...Interesting. This is a pretty good and enjoyable story. Upvote from me to your story. Oh, and a Fav too.

Update to the new Rainbow Dash (EQG) tag is suggested

7878804 I will make the suggestion once again

That was a good scene expansion from the movie. The scene where Sunset chases Twilight off is one of the best scenes so it deserved some elaboration.

I don't blame Sunset for blowing up.

But remember Sci-Twilight is a friendless girl who gets looked down upon by everybody. She never expected that magic to did what it did, and thus didn't comprehend the gravity of the situation. Getting yelled at just brought up a lot of nasty memories.

And the only reason she didn't junk the pendant was because Cinch bullied her into releasing the magic.

Sunset getting angry was natural, but it was not the solution. At the end of the movie, Sunset offering her hand in friendship instead of violence and threats is what got Twilight to break free of Midnight Sparkle.

I often relatate with Sunset regarding the rage.

I do tend to react with anger when scared, stressed or disgusted, at best when I'm more or less in control I tend to react with some annoyance, but sometimes you let things build up and since you don't know how to react, you tend to explode when the whole thing is overwhelming you, even when sometimes you know it would more harm than good.

Maybe that explains why I often get the choleric temperament in most test I do.

“I was scared that’d I lose you.”

I think you contraction'd the wrong word.

There were also some random extra line breaks throughout. The ones in the middle of conversations were the most jarring.

This was still a nice expansion on that scene from The Friendship Games.

Well that was amazingly awesome.

Yeah but that wasn't the first portal. Plus she almost got people hurt by Giant plants who tried to eat them. Part of science is being careful so people hopefully won't get hurt. The minute the experiment started doing stuff it wasn't supposed to do was the moment to step back and take another look at the problem. If she wants to be a scientist she needs understand safety as much as learning.

Exactly and she acted like it was no big deal that her experiment went off the rails and almost got a bunch of people killed. She wants to be a scientist but if she behaved that way around her fellow scientist they drum her out faster than you can blink. I get that teens can be stupid but not to the point of total destruction usually. Although at least one of those total destruction was the school fault.
