"It's pointless now, we can't fight them without a good aviator, maybe we should just give up."
"You're an alicorn. You are an heir to the throne if not a princess already. Are you sure you want to give up on your subjects?"
"You know what, you're right."

Mmh, it's funny how quickly Twilight's point of view on the matter changes.

Your characterization methods really need help. Twilight Sparkle is not the type of character to give up so quickly. She did change her mind (instantaneously), but still, she gave up for a moment.
