Things can happen very quickly when one lets magic into places it shouldn't go.

Sunset Shimmer spots something in a video of her battle with Midnight Sparkle. Her solution will draw in both Crystal Prep acquaintances and Canterlot High friends in her quest to save some lives by making a better magic-trapper.

I think you forgot to close an italics tag.

A very cool concept, and excellent characterization for both the Crystal Prep students and the sirens. You made both sympathetic without forgetting the traits that made them antagonists in the first place. My only complaint is that the research and development portion felt kind of rushed, but overall, this was a very enjoyable read. Thank you for it.

Italics a teeny bit distracting there. ..

Interesting concept. Have an upvote.

Thanks, livin. I thought I'd snagged that, but apparently there were *two* tags close by!

kul

Very nice. I love how you fleshed out the Crystal Preppers more and more. With Sour baking all the time, does that means she had magic of Laughter or Kindness? Plus, what exactly the Rainbooms do in the end to make Indigo Zap secretes her magic? With that asked, I can just accept all these beautiful ideas into my headcanon!

Fun story. I particularly liked the take on magic and the potential of whatever might develop out of magic plus technology.

Nice use of the Crystal Prep girls, too.

.... The submission deadline *just* passed last night. No one's been chosen yet. And there are six categories.

“Oh, joy,” Sugarcoat sighed, reaching for a cupcake. “More wacky adventures. Looks like I picked the wrong week to go off sugar.”

Awesome breakthrough, best pony!:ajsmug:
THIS IS SO GOOD...:rainbowkiss:

Just wanted to let you know I posted a review of this story — and 13 other entries in the Scribblefest competition — over at my blog.

Good luck in the competition!

That they would starve without the gems is wrong. They were hit by elements of harmony. It wouldn't be harmonius to make them die from hunger.

It was interesting, but they have the same digestive system as humans. They wouldn't starve.

Maybe. We don't know their fate. Yes, the Sirens eat real food, we know that. But Aria also tells Adagio at one point that 'she's had enough of fast food and needs a meal', indicating that the energy they're consuming somehow sustains them.

There are plenty of other fics who take this tack.

Another.

NO seriously, another.
