Well, it's a bit.... fast paced. I believe this could be fleshed out a bit more. Still, it's quite an interesting concept. I just couldn't fully enjoy it because it is so rushed. You would definitely benefit from a proofreader and an editor.
Let me guess, the creature that's going to devour the Earth is the main villain.
