She used to have a charmed life. Flying high on fame, everypony knew she was the greatest flyer in all of Equestria. Captain of the Wonderbolts, married to her lieutenant, and doing what she loved most of all, she could do no wrong.
Until the accident.
Such a shame, they said, So much wasted potential.
Now looking forward to a life forever bound to the earth, she seeks solace in the one thing that still makes her happy. In her books, she can fly away from her troubles, leaving behind the ground and all those who would seek to bring her back down to earth.
If only she had a little more time.
(Basically just a rewrite of the Twilight Zone episode of the same name. If you haven't already, I would highly recommend checking it out!)

I can't help but feel like you're just rewriting the classic twilight zone episode, if you are you should let your readers know that this isn't your idea.
This was one of my favorite episodes, so it's neat to see someone rewrite it as an MLP fic. So far I'd say you're doing a pretty good job, but it does feel a little too much like the same script with the names swapped. For example, Soarin seemed wildly out-of-character as the domineering wife. You should maybe have worked the other characters' personalities into the story of the episode more. Doesn't really matter now though, because there aren't going to be any more characters.
