In the text of the chapter, the title is spelt "Dissolution"; the title entered in FIMFiction's chapter list, though, appears to be "Dissolusion", which I don't think is a valid spelling.
Good chapter. I see some nice touches that I haven't seen recently and it's nice to see Charity again... every single currency will be hers, bottlecaps weren't enough.
7497417 Thanks. Sorry.
7497505 Oh. Charity's going to love the zebra lands. "Wait. So they use food for money? How's that even work? Per ounce? Per calorie? And those use spices? So is a spicy meal like equal exchange between the two? What about them? Pelts? Like being back in the age of woolly ponies. okay, so what about them? Bullets? Bullets are money here?! Skylord, I'm going to kill you! UGH! And everyone uses Imperios but they're not worth as much as the rest of this junk? I need to make a chart!" After an hour, Scotch checks on her and finds her curled up, fetal. "Are you okay?" "I miss bottle caps. Bottle caps are wonderful currency."
Niuhi is just so cute! Can we keep her? Can we have her join Scotch Tape's team and not die a horrible death?
Niuhi is definitely nightmare fuel, zombie filly with shark spirit attached. Also kudos on the name I Google it to see if it had any meaning, and that's some good use.
Someone's been watching Jaws
I'm actually happy to see her here hahaha! Awesome! And frigging Majina is so damn cute, I love her to bits!
Same with Vicious! SHe's so cool!
Awesome job on this man, awesome job!
I. Bucking. LOVED! THIS!! CHAPTER!!!
Charity!!? What are you doing here?!
Seems like Riptide isn't one to waste an opportunity... Or is this Riptide lashing out because of what happened to her daughter. Got to admit it was interesting to see the monster behind the Zebra. Also a bit fitting considering her mother.
Interesting chapter.
Earth. Pony. Goddamn. SHAMAN.
Man I am going to LOVE seeing this develop!
Nidhogg?

You're welcome, and no problem. :)
whoaCharitywhat? How the heck is she here?
I love how Majina is trying so hard to make herself like an awesome storybook character. It's adorable.
So, Scotch has got some mysterious pony shamanistic potential. Can't wait to see more development on this.
I saw 2 typos in the chap, but I lost them.
All in all. Everything I've dreamed about this chap and more!

Someone needed to oversee the transport and delivery of that talisman. And who else would have been able to get hold of one?
Charity! OMG yes!!!!! Yesyesyesyesyes!!!!
It's been a long time since I "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT" during a chapter.
I didn't expect that ending. I want an explanation right at the start of next chapter. How's she here, what's going on ?
Majina is really cute playing main character. Skylord was pretty awesome in his rescue on the bridge. But I'm a bit sad we got only like 3 lines of Precious, I absolutly love her. But with Charity back, she should have some time next chapter. She was her bottlecaps mountain guardian after all. ^^
Did anyone else forget, like who half the damn new characters were in this arc?
And Charity, it makes perfect fking sense!
Awesome chapter can't wait to read more.
Charity... of fcking course.
Majina definitely needs more solo acts. She's great when she's playing protagonist. It's also good to see her more confident and less mopey.
Glad to see Charity in the mix (bet that wasn't cheap!). All we need now is Boo and the gang's really all back!
I couldn't help but think of Stand Users from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure when I was reading the parts with Niuhi
OMG, CHARITY!!!!!!
YUSSSS!!!!!!
Definite deja vu.
Actually, this chapter has a bit of that. Scotch's attempted self sacrifice, she had to get that from someone, right? Liked the focus on Scotch's weird shamanism thing, very interesting. This chapter got me thinking about Blackjack now though, and that hits me where it hurts the most, right in the feels. Loving the story overall.
That was fun now to deal with school and rel life while waiting for these breif inturludes of happiness.
Hey there Somber, I'm back with a bottle of whiskey to start reading again,
I was also wondering if you played the copy of the beginners guide I gifted you a while back.
Majina is the best protagonist! Such a great platform for character development, funny jokes and fourth wall breakery, also exceptionally cute :3. Hope to see more stuff from her perspective.
Hmm i wonder if Charity will have a run in with the golden legion at some point.
Homelands Ch. 9 Commentary
Aw, Scotch...
I will be so disappointed if it doesn't turn out Skylord's name is really some variation on "Feather Quill".
Turns out Vicious is red-yellow colorblind. Who knew?
When Scotch tells you to wait, you wait.
Ah. So you've cultivated an environment that encourages your subordinates to make alternate plans. Good job.
At least they ask permission before firing into someone else's Charlie Foxtrot.
"I can see you've played knifey-spoony before!"
This reminds me to wonder, if a zebra mare of tribe A had her child gestated by a surrogate of tribe B, which tribe would the child belong to?
Anyway, can we just settle on "ensemble cast" and take it from there?
Oh, you mean "character development bait"?
Pythia, honey, stop reading YouTube comments.
Well, there was that one time with the Eater. Seriously, you were there for that. And there was that whole thing on the Moon, not to mention literally traveling with Discord for a while. Honestly, it'd be more surprising if one of those didn't rub off on her.
Notice how I'm not even acknowleding the other possibility? If I don't think about it hard enough maybe it won't be true.
Hey, if a pony can be a shaman, a shaman can be a hero. When the spirit world goes out of balance, you don't call Captain America, you call Doctor Strange.
I have a really bad feeling about this. Don't you hate it when villains study their history?
Huh. Now I worry that "The Shaman" is Wrinklebutt, Meltyface, or Bwahaha. If not all of the above. Littlepip's story has probably spread widely enough that they wouldn't necessarily have to have been in Equestria at the time to know the specifics of his fall, but still...
Now you're thinking with portals!
Hey, sometimes a bad bluff can be almost as good as a good one.
Whoo boy. Here we go.
Well. That's. Huh. Interesting? So the attack on the Abalone definitely wasn't just a matter of a target of opportunity, and Riptide likely would have come after Scotch eventually, whether she sailed or not.
As impossible as a shaman being a hero?
Seriously, the world is standing on its ear and everything you know is wrong. This is the time to start examining why you believe what you believe.
Shit.
Hmm. Something that targets zebras but doesn't affect ponies? But why so specific? Or was it some kind of binary poison so that the infiltrators could share in each of the dishes as long as they avoided the dangerous combinations?
Bingo! ...okay, so it was probably obvious to anyone who's watched the Keaton Batman movie.
Ohhh... is that how she keeps eating things from several feet away? I'd assumed she was, like, stretching her mouth so fast you couldn't see it.
O_O Literally pouring oil on troubled waters?
Huh... so pollution hurts the spirit? Even as corrupted as she is?
(...someone call Captain Planet.)
"Smile, you son of a--!"
So I'm going to go out on a limb and call pony shamanism the "Fluttershy Special".
Actually, now that I think about it, this may be the shamanic expression of earth pony magic in specific.
Huh... or have earth ponies been using shamanism all along without realizing it, and zebras got distracted by the flashy unicorns and weather control?
Yeah, how far can she take that before she stops being able to breathe air?...
About that far. 'kay.
More likely she told them not to eat anything else, since it would seem suspicious if some didn't take part in the big ritual at the end, and if the important people were going to avoid they honey cakes they could have just put regular poison in those.
I'm going to go with "Saving the world and a whole lot of lives, including my own".
I was going to say something here about zebras not seeming to understand dying for a higher cause, but now that I think about it, maybe that's exactly the problem. Maybe they're so steeped in "the way things are supposed to be" that the idea of sacrificing to make things better is... foreign. They're accustomed to sacrifice in recompense or to gain power, but somehow the status quo has become god and someone who would give up their life to make things better, to make things different, is considered an idiot.
I don't know. I feel like this should figure into stories a lot. I want to discuss this with Majina.
Censure Judo!
Pffthahaha! I hope you're paying attention, Majina.
I guess Riptide is using the technicality that the river isn't part of the city.
Good thing there's another technicality that spotting for artillery also isn't committing violence.
What.
What?!
WHAT.
*facepalm*
Majina, it's a good thing you're adorable.

Someone get this mare a Delta!
Or how's the RPG expression go? "Never fire into a melee (grapple?)"? Then again, that generally presupposes you're on the same side.
"I'm staying all tsun- and no -dere if it kills me! (So that it doesn't end up killing you! Dammit, I fucked it up, didn't I?)"
What gets interesting is who else the rub-off could have happened to.
When the spirit world goes out of balance, you don't call
Captain AmericaSuperman, you callDoctor StrangeJohn Constantine(no wait, only if you wanna get fucked over yourself, let's try again) Doctor Fate. You're not wrong, I just like DC more.
"You know what I call a hero? A corpse waiting to happen." But you may be right about the zebra ethic. Or at least that there are limitations to where they'd give up their lives for a higher cause: there was the war itself (power, perhaps, certainly honor led many to be willing to lay down their lives) and by extension the Remnant.
Wouldn't we need Xanthe to have the full party? Then again, she wasn't with the others very long. Whatever. Loved the chapter.
A moment of silence.
Starting now, will letcha know how it goes, snowman
holy balefire boom!!! you have an account here! and you made another FoE?!?! how did i miss this! when i finished project horizons about a year ago i think but not here though i was like "this person is talented at writing, he/she should make a sequel" and as im just browsing, i see this story and what stop me was the story pic what caught my eye was scotch tape, i saw her and was like "what?" and then BAM! the spawn of this comment, so other then that good luck with the story i will be reading this soon.
Was this done or purpose, or is this a mistake?
Nidhogg is a wyrm that lives underneath Yggdrasil and gnaws at its roots.
Jörmungandr on the other hand is the world serpent that coils itself around Midgard.
7666978 A mistake. I'm playing a lot of Final Fantasy 14 lately, and that's the name of one of the bad guys.
How complete is the story? I'm at chapter 41 of my second read of Horizons, and this will be next in the list of things to read before rereading Xenophilia
ok before i read this story i have one single question i want spoiled. no two. 1. is blackjack in it?
and 2. how dark is this? compared to the original FOE and project horizons?
7735306 Not till the very end, and I'm trying to make it less dark.
7738850
she does appear!!! yay!!! so i take it since this is a year later this is after she woke up in her blank body and before everyone else, ie velvet, homage ect. died of old age and she became a depressed imortal? also less dark yay my heart might live!
7738850
also i assume this story is before the epilogue? or at least the 200 years later part. and when you said the end do you mean she has just appeared as of the current chapter? or you mean she will appear at the end of the story?
God damnit somber, your reply to Pen in the first comment was that the only way they could ever bring charity with them was in a bag...
And nine chapters later, she's with them in a fucking bag.
Thank you overlord somber for your blessful insight
Why do I get the feeling that the adults at Chapel did this to get rid of the only kid they had to listen to.
7764709 That is not an entirely implausible scenario. Most adults aren't nearly as gullible and accomidating as Blackjack.

(What do the spirits say? They say, "Please, don't squeeze the shaman.">
and will be continued?
HAHAAHAHAHAHA SWEET CELESTIA THAT ENDING, F*CKING CHARITY WHAT!?!?!?
7791114 yes, slowly making progress. Hopefully new chapter in January.
