Fluttershy's dreams often take her to the Sweet Apple Acres orchard, making small talk with the bats and enjoying a few apples. But when one of her "dreams" takes a different turn, she and Big MacIntosh find their waking world turned upside-down.
I do like where you're taking this... My vote for what to call Flutterbat is something like Evening Breeze, which ties to "flutter" nicely... Maybe to tie it fully to Fluttershy, you could go with "Breeze Whisper".
Alternately, a cool idea would be to reference the moon in some way since Flutterbat only appears on the full moon... I got nothin' on that front, but maybe someone else will come up with something.
6712185 AHA! I've been wracking my brain cuz I knew there was some Latin word relating to darkness that was escaping me -- it was umbra! Umbral Breeze it is!! Thank you! "Lunar" did keep popping into my head, but in a world where one everyone seems to have unique names, it'd seem somewhat blasphemous to name someone after a princess/goddess. It'd be different if there were common names (i.e. how we can have several Bills and Joes in the same community), but the pony naming convention pretty much begs originality.

6700136 Ooooh, I like "Breeze"... that's a start. Definitely something with Breeze in it. I'm not sure how to work the moon in there though...

How about Umbral Breeze or Lunar Breeze?
