Fluttershy's dreams often take her to the Sweet Apple Acres orchard, making small talk with the bats and enjoying a few apples. But when one of her "dreams" takes a different turn, she and Big MacIntosh find their waking world turned upside-down.
I know the show makes him out to be one but, deep down, I think he really, really doesn't want to lose the friendship he has with Fluttershy, since she's the only one who can seem to put up with his nonesense.
And cerulean is the colour of Fluttershy's eyes right? and green is Mac's? If so, it was pretty subtle and did take me a while to understand where the colours came from.
I can certainly see Mac being a role model for Spike too, just so long as he didn't hear about the whole dress thing from Rainbow, though Spike himself where's that pink apron so maybe the little Dragon sees it as a badge of honour. Like, "Yeah, it takes a real stallion to be able to where a dress!"
Still, you made a pretty good fic out of something, I thought, was just going to be clop. I tip my hat to you. I certainly liked the fact that it wasn't a relationship set in stone, just because they're having a child.
Keep up the good work, your writing earned you a like and a fave. I only fave FlutterMac that don't fall into the "They're both shy, so it works" trope, and this one doesn't, so deserves some more recognition for it, Four Pinkies out of five and a moustache for you, good brony!
6628568 I've been a little antsy about my portrayal of Discord as well, but you gotta consider how he behaved when Fluttershy took Tree Hugger to the GGG -- he was a huge dick just because she had another friend, and he didn't spare her feelings then. This is a bit bigger. He definitely doesn't want to lose her, but he doesn't know how to handle this. Despite being a few thousand years old (that we know of), social function is still very new to him, and he has the emotional maturity of a kindergartener.
To be perfectly honest, the favorite color thing was just a happy accident! I honestly just went with what I thought their favorite colors would be, and it just so happened to be each other's eyes xD I hadn't thought about Spike wearing an apron; I might have to work that in at some point....
There wouldn't even be a story if I just went with "well, there's a baby, so we're married now"! And you might have noticed I used Discord to poke fun at the "they're shy, so it works" crowd -- again, there just wouldn't be a story here. There's no drama in "aaaand KISS!" and without drama, what compels you to keep reading? I'm glad I seem to be doing a good job so far ^^ Thanks for reading!
Wow...Discord's a jerk.
