Too many names taken

I don't write. I'm just here to read.......well maybe I'll try it.

E

Two Pegasus head to Canterlot hosptial to have a check-up for their expected baby only to hear what no parent wants to hear.
I did not plan for this to be my first story but got some help to write it after some disturbing comments another Fimfiction user said to me.

Story is well done however Stephen Hawking is a poor example as his disability did not manifest itself until he was grown.

6383353 He's still badly disabled though but still productive. The point is that born with or gained they deserve life and to be treated as a another valuable human being as well as capable of great accomplishments and living a good life. An ever sadder thing is that in this day in age where we have so much technology to better help them it is encouraged that they be culled.

I am pro-life, so I approve of the author's note.

6385345 Thank you. Please share it. I hope that it might save a life one day.

This is a really good story, especially for a first. It's simple, it gets to the point, and it's very clear and well written. I especially like the message that you are trying to convey. Great work.

6448728 Thank you. I have had practice writing before I came to FIMfiction. I was working on another story for my first but a disturbing exchange with a user I wrote this one instead. I wanted to lay out what the belief was and really did.

That was heartbreaking...good job...:applecry:

6461178 Thank you. That belief breaks my heart.

Glad to see someone else who is passionate about the pro-life cause.

I believe many people with disorders are rather successful. The creator of Pokemon, for god sakes, is Autistic!

6519976 Me too & even if they aren't their life should not be respected any less. No one can determine a life before it is lived. Everyone deserves a chance & a right to that chance.

6524924 Unless there is a sure way to prove that child would go through hell, then people don't deserve the chance at killing it.

6524936 There is now way to prove such. People with the worst have in life have been & have become the happiest & vice versa. Children whom you would think would have the best life setup can end up the most miserable & vice versa. This is the same for handicapped & non handicapped. They are no different than non handicapped in life.

In fact if your really pro abortion go to youtube and watch videos of babies born alive during abortions. If you can't stand to watch them struggle then you really don't believe in it.

6562870 I delete anything that can become a flame war. I will not have it trailing my stories.

6562878 not all doctors are professional & the idea that u should abort children for disability is a very real thing. His words are often the way they try to reason it. If you really believe that abortion is right go & watch videos of aborted children born alive. If u can't u really don't believe in its right.
If u know my mind can't change then why did u present arguments? It is the nature of people.
Let me rephrase that. If u want to state your opinion & can do so calmly then PM. I have no problems with people having different opinions but reserve my right to mine & to point out murder of infants. Nor do I waste time on those just throwing around outrage.

Oh, buddy, no. Deleting comments? You're reputation is not gonna last long here. Hell, some of those comments were on your side.:ajsleepy:

6566129 your right it is like gathering all your friends to bash something that you don't believe in. So is blocking. I am not taking this story down. Move on and know that you condone and promote the murder of babies. You can reason it all you want but that will never change.

6569426 Sorry can not stand a flame war.

You're not sorry. You just don't want to hear any disagreeing opinions.

EDIT: Thanks, Eldorado.

6569446 So (honest question) why are you writing stories that are so controversial in nature if you don't want to deal with controversy?

6569458 Funny thing to say when that guy calls in a mob to attack a story that disagrees with his. No I don't have a problem with other opinions, why do you think I told them to PM me. I am not having a flame war under my story and that is that.

6569470

Some of those comments were legitimate criticisms of your work. Again, you just don't want to hear others opinions when they don't praise your work. Ive noticed that you've left several other comments that only said good things about it.:ajbemused:

6569497 They said good things about pro-life not starting an argument about it. The comments I deleted before this last round had nothing to criticizing my writing but arguments about abortion. If I accidently deleted some that only had to do with the writing which I really doubt I'm sorry. Nor were any of them calm and simply wanting to discuss the matter that too is fine. That is way I'm leaving your comments and taking the time to reply. Angry insult and in your face is another matter.
You accuse me of not wanting other opinions but no criticism of someone who doesn't even have to look at the story once he realizes what it is calling in all of his friends to come bash. That is someone who can't even stand for someone else's ideas to exist.

They said good things about pro-life not starting an argument about it.

Oh, really?

Story is well done however Stephen Hawking is a poor example as his disability did not manifest itself until he was grown.

This is a really good story, especially for a first. It's simple, it gets to the point, and it's very clear and well written. I especially like the message that you are trying to convey. Great work.

There's also this.

Nor were any of them calm and simply wanting to discuss the matter that too is fine.

Many of them were calm and were willing to discuss the issue. But, of course to you, dissenting opinion = flame war, gotta censor!

You accuse me of not wanting other opinions but no criticism of someone who doesn't even have to look at the story once he realizes what it is calling in all of his friends to come bash.

:ajbemused: Really? you think people are just inviting their friends to come bash your shit? No, that's not happening. People came because they saw it for what it was, not because someone sent them an invite. Trust me, it's not an organized gang-rape of your precious literature. A lot of people disagree with the story's message, so it's no surprise that so many people commented on it.

Also, there's the fact that you just straight up lie. You say that the anti-abortion opinion is not yours, yet you vehemently strike out against those who don't agree. From your author's note to how you talk with commentors, it's fucking obvious that not only do you have the same views as the story, you also want to make them blatantly known.

You call people baby murderers and condoners of infant death and you somehow don't expect people to react to that?:applejackconfused:

6569497
6569520 I'm afraid the author is saying the thing that is not. This is what I actually said:

Yes. A trail of deleted comments looks absolutely terrible. Better to have a flamewar in the comments than a comments graveyard, which makes the author look intolerant and above receiving criticism.
As for the fic itself, it is about as subtle as a sledgehammer. The long author's note is telling. It suggests that the author doesn't think that the point has sufficiently gotten across. This is a correct assessment. It depends on shock value and caricature, and it has not been thoroughly edited.

Tell me where that says anything about abortion, pro or con. That was a criticism of your writing. If you want to write a pro-life fic, go ahead. The comments you kept suggest that it would have an audience. In order for it to succeed, it would have to be subtle. The message would have to take a back seat to the story. You'd have to make us care about the characters. It wouldn't have a preachy author's note: you'd know that the fic could stand on its own two feet.

The tags are wrong. "Tragedy" does not go with "slice of life." Note FAQ.

And I'd suggest not implying that Scootaloo was the aborted fetus. It's really gross and upsetting, not to mention that if you still insist on doing this, you must use the AU tag, for obvious reasons.

EDIT: Deleting this will do no good. I have been taking screencaps.

:facehoof: I'd make some sort of honest and fair criticism, but you're deleting comments that offer that, so I'll just give you some advice.

:unsuresweetie:Don't delete criticism. These people aren't trying to hate on you, they're trying to help you improve. There's exceptions to this, but you're acting way out of line here. Cut your losses and move on, rather than burning down bridges before they're even built. You'll make more friends that way.

And FYI, I screencapped this. I'll make sure to PM it you if you do delete this.

The comments I deleted before this last round had nothing to criticizing my writing but arguments about abortion.

That's absolute bullshit and you know it. I only said that your story wasn't subtle.

Liar.

Though 6569468 has a good point. FIM may be a brony web sight, but I find there are many here who don't really follow the messages of the show or choice to ignore certain once. I'm going to like an favorite your story to support your work and being brave. I myself had to stop debating this issue on FiM because it was cause me problems. The SJW on this site are very malicious and will troll/spam/mock anyone that says anything they find counter to there feelings.

The key is to figure out who's being a but-hurt winy scrub and who's actually giving you good constructive criticism. And as a premature baby, I know what it like to have a disabilities, but I fought and I feel I have a bright future ahead of me. I love my Mom and Dad for all the scarifies they made to help me get to my final year of Collage (people told her I would never make it that far.) Well guess what, those people were wrong.

#AllLivesMatter

There are those, unfortunately, who see it as their life's great duty to silence anyone who dares to challenge their worldview -- typically a far-left, Marxist worldview which puts little value on individual lives & freedom. They accomplish this by piling on people who don't agree with them, especially in the creative & social spheres, bullying them until they give up and stop saying what they believe.

This is a well written piece, although I think you could have done more with the end, especially mentioning things like the doctor not allowing them to see the screen (this is common with abortion providers, as they realize mothers who see their ultrascan are less likely to abort). The pacing was, in my opinion, less than ideal and you could have stretched it a little further.

However, do not give up and keep sharing your views and your stories. You aren't alone in your beliefs and your literary skill is very good.
