This story is a sequel to Infusions 2: Tea

Things have been rocky for Astra over the past year; now that it's public that her new spouse is a changeling, that simple fact has come to dominate a great deal of her life, and caused no end of troubles for her. The latest of those troubles may uproot them entirely, but even when such powerful forces tug on a person emotionally, there is a stronger force that can anchor them.

What's easy and what's right rarely coincide. Besides, having so little left for them in Canterlot means there's little keeping them from moving. I wish the couple luck. From what I've seen, they'll be welcomed with open hooves... though that's only what I've seen. There could be plenty of resentful changelings, or just ones that are concerned about letting a pony near the nymphs. Still, this ended on a hopeful note. I hope that's a sign of things to come.

Of course, A Door Opens ended on a similarly positive note, and given where that went... :unsuresweetie:

And now I'm seeing a bit where the info about Cooke in "Tea" comes in, and why it couldn't just be here.

Astra is handling this ... very philosophically. And in a sense I get that: but I'm with Stargazer on the pain. Losing a belief about something is still real, even if the underlying object wasn't.

As for the plan going forward, it's interesting, but hopefully workable. On one hand, there's a potential advantage in that from what we've seen there's more interest in ponies and acceptance there than we've been seeing in Equestria of changelings (see: this story). But we've also been seeing comparatively more of the common pony than the common changeling, and of the changelings it's been pretty selectively those interested in the exchange program, which would tend to put them in a more open or accepting light. Another thing weighing against it is that the pony society isn't constructed around sending people abroad into (hostile) foreign societies like the changelings' is: so we have a potentially more receptive target, but an immigrant less prepared to do so.

At least they'll have each other.

Biggest awww moment for Today! Well done

Ponys are quite cruel it seems... Than again that makes them more human and there for more realisic than simpel 'dont worry be happy' blue eyed creatures

Such discrimination! Shame! Shhaammmeee!
