Dude needs to work on his stamina. Also, how could this story not be any less weird if not more so then some of your other stories? For example, your Celestiaphilia story, Despite being near the top of the "weird-o-meter" in my books was also very enjoyable. So hopefully the same will be true for this one.

I recognised a couple outright and recognised a few more as references without knowing what they were referencing.

This was very funny. loved how they kept reading while twilight drove them to the door XD
Though the references were great, I suggest maybe making them a bit more subtle; especially when there are so many in one chapter. They were funny but kinda getting a bit annoying at times. Sometimes making them short and funny makes the joke more appreciated rather than explaining everything just to bounce to another reference.
The only reference I didn't found was one abaut 'Fifty Bales of Hay' if you know what I mean...

It is an interesting idea, using the mirror pool to duplicate ponies for their love. We don't think it's entirely sustainable though, the pool will probably run out of magic to build the constructs out of eventually...
