The quote doesn't really make sense... I mean, Spike isn't doubting her or having trust issues... and honestly, for the first time in my life based purely on what's going on, maybe he should be. Logic says you don't become less sexually frustrated by not having sex for as long as they seem to be. Her behaviors changing, shes not hanging out with her old friends, and she doesn't even tell him he loves her, she just tries to get rid of him. I have to admit, I'm actually compelled by this story, which is a shame cause I know when Spike inevitably gets fucked over, well most likely, I'm going to be sad and disappointed. Still, seeing how it all ends is quite the motivation to keep reading.
Why does this have so many downvotes? I'm curious, i'd like to hear why people hate this story.
Ok, look. I am adding this to my favorites. Not because I like this. In fact, I really hate this. I'm getting pissed off at Rarity, I'm feeling sadness and sympathy for Spike, and I am upset with the story as the whole cheating thing is not ok with me. I really don't even want to read until this story is complete so I can see the ending and not have to worry about what happens to Spike. But as Path_of_cloud said himself, I'm also compelled to read the story just to see how it goes. Please hurry and continue this story. I know you might get upset with readers asking that, but with all the tension, suspense, and the whole "wanting to wring Rarity by the neck" feeling you're giving me, I won't be able to stop thinking about this until then. So keep on doing what you do, and maybe I will only slightly hate Rarity less. As at this point, I don't think she deserves Spike. Maybe when he finds out, he will go cheat on her.

There is nothing wrong with that. The downvotes were to be expected given the pairing. In fact, considering the number of favorites and everything, this story is generating exactly the kind of reactions it was created to.
But I would give a word of advice to everyone who wants to wring Rarity neck right now. You need to read Rarity side of this tale (starting next chapter)...to truly understand her metamorphosis in 6 months, and to be able to hate her for the right reasons.
Reading this, I get the feeling that Spike and Rarity are moving to a divorce...especially where it looks like despite all that Spike does for her, literally having her hand and foot, Rarity's generally becoming bored with Spike.
This is gonna be childish sounding, but it Rarity believes that she has to go to another man to simply satiate her lustful desires, even when Spike has gone out of his way to be there for her, well Spike needs to get on the market as well, and get someone that appreciates all that he does and that he truly loves.
I'm telling you, part of me seems like they don't really love each other, and if that is the case, they need to see other people, perhaps permanently

Looks like Rarity's doing even worse: She actively derives pleasure from his pain. She hasn't just gotten "bored" with him, but probably already cheated on him repeatedly and taken pleasure in the fact that she is destroying him, even as she puts on the facade of a loving and devoted wife.
And now she's, most likely, going to do it right in front of him to make him feel more worthless than ever... Morbid curiosity and a hope that there is somehow a satisfying conclusion (or that this is custom-built to look like she is emotionally torturing him by neglecting him, then betraying him, when she is just emotionally torturing him by neglecting him... which is a significantly lighter shade of dark) is what's keeping me going, here. I'm hoping there is a cathartic conclusion to this horror story.
Looks like, from the comment from the author, that outrage and anger are the desired/expected reactions.

That was a good guess, but I believe I have good reasons to pick Sombra for this job, not only because we are talking about a REALLY dark path ahead for our generous heroine...but also for one or two surprises down the road.

Spike better. I would murder the guy if I was in Spike's place. Absolutely skin Sombra alive until he passes out from shock then shower him in gasoline and wake the bastard up by draining the remaining fluids down his throat only to set him on fire just to hear Sombra scream in torment and agony. And I would watch until the fires died out only to immediately leave Rarity in the most blunt and outright manner possible, maybe hurtful as well. Emotionally of course, as wounds upon the heart never truly heal, and fuck women in soulless passion until my own time comes. So Spike better be angry, as no man would ever let something like this down peacefully.
So it's ultimately gonna be the former Dark King of the Crystal Empire vs. The Crystal Empire's hero. And if I remember correctly, with some help, the Savior won. Can you say rematch??
That is something, though I have to wonder if Spike has a more powerful, more superior side to him that he's usually let on. I have to think that that is what Rarity attracted to him in the first place up to the point that they were married. And then he's stayed true to being as Rarity's husband, maybe to the point that we have forgotten about his more beastly side.
I swear, if all of this is because Sombra showed Rarity something that she apparently has been craving for so long, I would really hope that Spike has a chance to show who he really is. Don't you just get the feeling that he depowers himself for her sake??? If not, that break-up should be swift and painful, so that the scars remain. No one is ever gonna get over this scot-free.

Close enough, and pretty damn dark, quite relevent when it turns out to be sombra.
We never seen much of Spike now, considering that this is about Rarity, I would not be surprised, however, if we discover that Spike has a dark a streak as Sombra, just that he purposely hides it from Rarity, for his and her sakes...
And here's where Rarity really gets bad. Not only does she betray him, and stop feeling bad, but starts thinking how ideal it is that she gets whatever she wants and it barely matters if Spike does.
It's not really love she feels for Spike anymore, just an appreciation of his devotion. Maybe that's all she ever felt anyway.
Of course, it's getting worse before it gets better... if it gets better at all.
I think Spike should look for another woman, even her sister. Yes, I said it; this may be the one scenario where it is actually good to have the option of 'can't get the girl, go for the sister'....
And the divorce should be now....at this point there is little collateral damage (there will be some, but at least we can minumize the damage).
Personally I am hoping for a point where Rarity gets caught by Spike. Sombra is so arrogant with how he claims that he own Rarity's pussy that there has to a slip-up somewhere. There always is, may be a day or a decade from now, but there will be a slip-up. Once that happens, Rarity's marriage to Spike will be kaput, and then she can be with big-dick Sombra and his entourage all she wants.
Spike, leave her. No matter what she says. No matter what she does. She left you. That "Perfect Marriage" crap she is spilling is a lie. She is just using you at this point. So just leave her and find your own happiness.

That was quite a fitting summary of Rarity, you have my appreciation for understanding her line of thinking so far in this story. But as for Rarity getting really bad...well, I hope you have some stronger words at hand for what comes after that.
I am really hoping Spike breaks that chair, and then Sombre's neck. That or he just throws the damn ring Rarity and tells her to go fuck herself, it seems less drastic, but maybe some consequences will actually knock that bitch down a few pegs... sadly probably not.

I've probably said it before, but I am saying this again: Spike is a man, the same as Sombra, and seriously he needs to begin to act like one. He may not like it, but in the end, he has to make a claim on his wife again, to be the Spikey that successfully wooed his Rares and probably did wow her in the bedroom. He may be blinded by love for his wife, but eventually he has to put his foot down. Otherwise he should leave Rarity at the next opportunity. Rares may be getting to the point that she's too good for him, but it works the other way around, Rare's gonna find out that Spike's too good for her, especially how he is literally busting his ass for his "wife". There probably would be a shitload of women to be Spike's rebound girl, or something more permanment than that.
How it's gonna turn out to you Rares, when Spike gets the balls to say "I'm leaving your cheating ass. You pretty much wasted x amount of my time, love, and money playing to be my wife, and yet you let yourself get fucked silly by some douchebag who probably got more chickenheads than he can have time with? Well, I do have a deep contempt for the kind of person Rarity is becoming... I think this story is hitting the implicit heart at every "she cheats and doesn't tell him, manipulating and betraying him and not or hardly feeling bad" story: it is pretty horrible for her husband, who is usually being played off as a fool and a loser, unworthy of her affection anyway, so as a result he is unsympathetic to being manipulated or betrayed by her because he's not worth her love.
So it's... terrible, and heartbreaking, and weirdly refreshing to see a story actually take that pain seriously rather than a shallow joke at her husband's expense, even as it's hard as hell to read because I am assuming that Rarity is going to be the worst or very nearly so before anything stops getting darker (Again, if it does. Basically anything but it going straight to the darkest, most abusive place it can is going to surprise me at this point.)
I usually only start insulting characters in a story if the author doesn't seem to see or agree about how awful they are, but I can dredge up some outraged words if you'd like them.
In this chapter you use the term "deserve" in a bizzare way.

So far i see this going 3 ways.. maybe 4

maybe I'm the only guy to notice this, but the image of Spike, Rarity, and Sombra, seems to be changing with every chapter revealed. At the beginning it showed Rarity and Spike, about equal to each other, then when Sombra is introduced, It shows all three of them. But lately with each chapter, the image is showing that there is more of Rarity cuddling to Sombra, while Spike is gradually fading from the picture..
I have to say, it is ingenious that something as simple as a picture and gradual changes parallel what is really going on with the three characters. Sad to say, it could eventually lead to foreshadowing that Spike is leaving the picture (he's gonna leave Rarity of his own accord), but again I applaud you for that concept.
A picture truly is worth a thousand words.

Thanks for the compliment, the gradually changing cover was a little effort that I felt would made the most use of what we can do here in Fimfiction. Now here's a tip, the size of the characters are not the only changes in the picture. But most likely you need to see the image up close (click on it) to notice another slow change that have been happening right in front of your eyes.
And everyone else, I appreciate that your truly are feeling the darkness of this tale and with it, giving it life with your commitment. As for what comes next, there are still one or two twists right at the end that I bet no one is going to see coming.

The only reason i´m giving you a like is because your fic is well made, i completely dislike the theme, it hurts me physically to read it, opinions aside, i have 2 possible endings for it:
1- The "Twist" ending: it is all a "dream", either from Rarity or Spike, the lack of a sexual life might have induced them these dreams where they desires and insecureties are unbound by logic or common sense, its all raw emotion.
2-The "eye" ending: if it is any indication, in the ending Rarity may "see" that the pleasure she is getting from Spike is way too bad, she "sees" that all that sheps been doing relly is harming him, and realizes that she´s been how selfish sehe been.
Its all theory, maybe youra going for the actually "fuck happiness for Spike" ending, but at least i got it out of my system.
P.S.: can you at least say how many chaptes left until the end?

I can't tell you how many chapters are left...since I don't know. I do have the whole story written of course, but I am still deciding how long and how are the next chapters going to be separated to give the fic a more interesting flow.
One thing I can say for sure. The people who want to read something less dark and sadistic might enjoy some of the future story developments since they are really far from everything esle so far in this fic...on the other and, the people here that are actually enjoying the cruel and sexual content (could there be anyone?) of the story might feel that said future developments were unnecessary.

...this is not ok. I've already stated how I felt about this and what I believe in. This story has brought up the worst of memories and the worst of me. The only reason I am even staying anymore is to see if Spike can be a better man than me.
I'm afraid that this could go the way of suicide....Spike's heart is gonna be shattered, and at this point all that he would have left is his physical form, and one way or another Spike's gonna throw his physical form away too. There isn't gonna be a chance for someone else to repair and rebuild him after all that Rarity has done.
Sooner or later, there probably will warrant a Tradgedy tag. I hope not, but that could be in the works.
