POV: Karn / Location: Equus - Equestrian Plains - Dojo
After making sure all our frames are disinfected after wiping out the hive, we finally return to the Dojo where I turn to face my Tenno. "Everyone, well done on your first successful mission. Fortunately, this Hive wasn't as bad as it could have been. Nonetheless, I'm proud of all of you for your effort and officially welcome you as fully fledged Tenno," I tell them as I cradle my broken left arm.
They all thank me in their own ways and congratulate each other before I speak up again.
"Now then, go rest up and take the rest of the day off. Tomorrow, we'll be planning defences and surveillance against the Gryphons," I tell them before looking back to the Orbiter. "Ordis, start construction of the signal booster now, hopefully we can contact Lotus and get reinforcements sent to fortify this system," I tell him.
"Yes, Operator. Beginning construction now," he replies as six construction drones break away from the hanger and slowly begin building the booster next to the dojo. "Estimated completion time is thirty-six hours," Ordis informs me.
"Good, now go and relax, I need to get this frame repaired," I tell them all and start hobbling toward my Orbiter.
I hear them heading into the Dojo, but one set of footsteps is following me. My minimap shows it's Rainbow following me.
"Yes, Rainbow?" I ask her as she jogs up beside me.
"So... Now that the Virus is gone... What happens next?" she asks as I stumble and she catches my right arm.
"Well, first I'm going to fix my Ember frame, then continue working on the hanger, then as I said, tomorrow we'll discuss setting up defences and surveillance from the Gryphons," I reply as we reach the Orbiter and enter.
We head down the ramp and take the left side of the armoury and to Helminth's room, the door opens and Rainbow gasps at the infected looking room.
"Karn... what is this? This looks like that Virus..." she says in shock.
"This is Helminth, he's responsible for repairing any major damage to my frames as well as making sure the biological components of the Orbiter are functioning properly. How else do you think there's breathable air in the ship when in space?" I reply and point to the chair in the middle. "Help me to that chair," I tell her and she cautiously helps me over.
Once placed, I can hear Helminth's voice.
"Master, I see you are injured," the low rumbling voice of Helminth says to me.
"Yeah fighting an Origin strain infested and taking a bomb blast in the back did a number on me," I reply with a chuckle. "Repair this frame, Helminth." I order him as I make sure I'm in the seat properly.
"As you wish, Master," he replies as the long spear like limbs to the left and right of the chair raise up and impale my hands to the arm rests, making Rainbow gasp then scream as one of the three above my head wraps around my neck to hold me in place while the other two impale my frame's stomach.
My frame struggles in place for a bit before I transfer myself back to my real body.
I make my way out and back to Rainbow who is staring at the display. "Rainbow?" I say getting her attention.
She looks at me with I’m sure would be disgust on her face. "The buck is this!?" she yells at me and points to the still thrashing Ember frame.
"The Helminth was made by the Orokin originally to turn people into Warframes who retained their minds somewhat and to repair Warframes if badly damaged," I reply as I watch Helminth repair the broken arm and fractured leg of my Warframe.
"Wait... you mean Warframes were once people?" she asks in shock and then to her hands.
"Yours and mine weren't, they were built off the blueprints of the originals, but the original Warframes from the Orokin era were. We find new and lost Warframes now and then from Orokin towers, derelict ships, ruins, the void, or even in other dimensions. Then we bring back their bodies to not only make new Warframe blueprints from them, but to show them the proper respect and give them their final resting place," I reply.
She's silent for a few seconds before asking. "Does that mean that thing can turn ponies or anything else into a Warframe?" she asks while slowly stepping away.
"It's possible, but we Tenno have made it a rule to never do that unless the individual agrees to go through with it," I reply. "While we were made into what we are now by the Orokin, it doesn't mean we have to be like the Orokin," I say and turn to leave the room.
Rainbow follows me and I head out of the Orbiter to see Applejack, Big Mac, and Fluttershy heading back to Ponyville.
We just stay silent for a few minutes before Rainbow speaks up. "Who are the Orokin?" she finally asks me.
I frown at the thought of the Orokin. "They're greedy, selfish, manipulative, and thought themselves masters of everything. If you didn't do as they said, or made a mistake, they made an example out of you, for instance, Ordis was once a living person, but was punished and turned into a Cephalon. Many others suffered the same fate, or even willingly became Cephalon. Their technology was very advanced, even more so than today's standards and allowed them a form of Immortality. No longer aging or able to switch bodies and some of the best medical science available kept them alive," I tell her and then turn to look at her.
"They were slavers and were the original creators of the Grineer who were used as cloned soldiers for their armies before the Warframes were created, we even think their current Queens were once Orokin themselves. But their culture was based around art, technology, and architecture. They made everything to be extravagant and opulent with ivory white and gold colours.
I even have two Nercomech war machines, these were the predecessors of Warframes but not very intelligent on their own, but void-born Tenno like me and Twilight are able to control them like a Warframe."
I sigh and look up into the sky. "There are a few Orokin still alive to this day, some we've killed and some who have changed their ways due to circumstances. The Entrati who are stuck on the moon Deimos which is completely covered in the Technocyte became infested but retained their minds and are now aiding us Tenno. They're the ones who helped me get my Necromechs," I finish telling her.
"The Orokin sounds terrible... Is it possible they could return?" Rainbow asks me.
"It could be possible, but the only real things left behind are their ivory towers and systems. They have enslavement systems in their towers capable of taking over intruders' minds and forcing them to be guardians or caretakers until they die. We call these poor souls Void Corrupted, and we don't know of a way to return their minds to them as of yet," I reply sadly before continuing.
"Only we Tenno and those that know how to shield themselves from the system can safely enter these Towers. Though the Grineer and Corpus attempt to salvage anything they can despite the risks to either reverse engineer or sell on black markets."
Rainbow looks down and then to the Orbiter before looking back at me. "Will those Grineer find their way here? I remember Lyra mentioning she found one of their ships crashed in the Everfree Forest but the Grineer inside was all dead," she tells me, making my eyes widen.
"What!? The Grineer were here!? Wait... I remember Chrysalis mentioning she found the Technocyte in a crashed metal vessel." I say in surprise and head back into the Orbiter to get my Rhino Warframe. "Ordis! Scan for Grineer signals!" I order him as I pass the foundry.
"At once, Operator," he replies as I enter my link chamber.
"Karn!? What's wrong? Lyra said they were dead!" she yells as she follows me inside.
I sit in my somatic link chair and connect to my Rhino. Once in my frame and out of the pod I run past her to the armoury and arm myself with a Boltor rifle.
The big brother to the Bolto, it's a sixty round automatic rifle of Tenno make that fires large bolts designed to punch through armour. I then take my Lex for more piercing power and for a melee weapon I pick up my Ripkas just in case I need to cut through the forest's foliage.
"Karn! Will you just tell me what's going on!?" Rainbow yells at me in frustration.
"Chrysalis said she found the Technocyte in a crashed ship, this Lyra pony says she saw dead Grineer in a metal ship in the same forest. That means Grineer somehow got here and crashed with a sample of the virus and it's possible that there could be more of it on board! So unless we go and find it to confirm there's no more, the threat of the Technocyte is still very real!" I tell her and fully stock my ammo hard-drives with the correct ammunition and head over to the console to the left of the cockpit.
Ordis brings up a map of the forest and I watch as Ordis scans for signals. I glare at the screen as not one, but three beacons show up. One is the Grineer ship's SOS beacon, the other two are faint, but infantry beacons.
"So we just need to look for and destroy any more of the virus we find if there's any right?" she asks and extends a venka claw in front of her face.
"Yes. Ordis, get Rainbow my Odonata Archwings and get me my Elytron Archwings," I tell him.
"Affirmative, Operator," he replies and I hear the Archwings launched outside.
"Come on, we need to get to that ship now," I tell her and run out of the Orbiter when my Archwings connect to my waist.
Rainbow follows me out and the Odonata wings connect to her. "Let's go," I say and take off towards the beacon.
After a few seconds of flight we're hovering over a canyon and I can make out a small heavily damaged Grineer Gokstad Crewship.
"Come on," I tell Rainbow and fly down, but a strange red eel like creature quickly lunges out of a large hole in the canyon side with intent to devour me. I fly back and fire one of thirty bloomer rockets from my Archwings which flies into the eel's mouth before I remotely detonate it, causing the head of the creature to explode in charred flesh and gore to rain down to the bottom of the canyon.
"Gross..." Rainbow comments as she watches the eel's corpse slide out of the hole and down to the ground.
I spot several other holes and as a precaution, fire six more rockets, one at each and collapse the entrances.
Now clear I land near the crewship and examine the wreckage. Seems like it was heavily damaged from battle as the signs of a Railjack's artillery cannon shot a shell through it, but missed the reactor... That doesn't explain why it's here though...
"Ordis, fly overhead and start running a more detailed scan for anything not native to this world. Grineer, Corpus, Orokin, anything, no matter how faint the signal," I order him as I make my way to a large hole that seems to have been made from the crash itself.
"On my way, Operator," he replies as I look around the totalled cargo area.
This world is lucky that the canister the Technocyte was in didn't break when this ship crashed. Judging by the overgrowth and the corpses, this has been here for at least two, maybe three-hundred years... The armour on the Grineer corpses are outdated and the broken Grakata smgs littering the wreckage are old models...
But one corpse is different, I walk over and avoid the debris and notice the armour colour, it's one of the Queens Nightwatch elites.
"Why is that one's armour black?" Rainbow asks behind me.
"It's one of the Grineer's elite from a unit called the Nightwatch. Explains why there was a canister of the Technocyte on board, they were planning to use it as a bioweapon most likely, perhaps on a colony or on an enemy ship," I reply and check for any I.D.
I find a very worn and faded I.D card reading RIDD - 093 I don't know this name and number, must be a lower ranked member of the Nightwatch or just an unknown one.
I can hear Ordis arrive above and speak up. "Commencing scan, Operator... Oh my... Sir, I'm picking up a very faint Orokin signal from a Railjack and a Tenno signal next to it buried within the cliff side next to the Grineer Crewship!" Ordis informs me by sending a marker behind me sixty feet away.
"A Railjack? Here? How?" I mutter to myself but continue looking for any more Technocyte containers, we spend a good twenty minutes looking but fortunately find nothing. The reactor, computers, and hard-drives are totalled and unsalvageable, but hopefully the Railjack's are still intact and can explain what happened here.
Rainbow and I exit the crewship where we now stand in front of the cliff face with the marker fifty feet away. I can probably blast my way through with my archwing's remaining ordinance...
"Rainbow, fly up and out of the way, I'm blasting through," I tell her and fly up.
"Alright," she replies and flies up behind me.
I target the wall and fire bloomer after bloomer into the stone. Rocks and boulders fly off in all directions as the sound of explosion after explosion rings out through the canyon, scaring wildlife away and the Grineer crewship to get partially buried but after twenty bloomers, the old blue painted front of the Railjack is visible.
"Ordis, call all available Titan extractors back now and excavate the Railjack out, this takes top priority. What's the condition of it's systems?" I order him and ask.
"Scanning... The void drive is damaged but repairable. Engines intact but external plating damaged. Weapon systems... primary guns intact but secondary will need replacing. Artillery cannon totalled, needs full replacing. Missile systems, Launcher one intact, launcher two totalled. Forges... two out of four functioning, one damaged, one totalled... Archwing slingshot... damaged but repairable. Logistics... intact. Shield generator... critical damage, but can be repaired. Multiple hull ruptures, seven in total, one is catastrophic and will need repairing for space flight. Onboard Command Cephalon Yuna... Offline but she's intact," he lists off all the systems.
Cephalon Yuna... I remember her, she was lost during a mission when a sudden void storm rolled in and we lost contact with her and a few Grineer ships. Is this where they were taken? If so, where are the other Grineer ships?
Also, what is emitting the Tenno signal Ordis found inside it?
"Rainbow, head back to the Dojo and return to your body, then get something to eat in Ponyville. I'll stay here and watch the excavation," I tell her as I stare at the dirt covered blue paint on the Railjack’s nose.
"Are you sure?" she asks me with concern.
"Yes, if you feel that worried about it, then go eat, tell the others and come back. Also, Ordis, run a continuous scan for Gryphon life signs. While they'll be unlikely to take anything from here, better not take any risks," I reply and tell him.
"Yes, Operator," Ordis says.
"Alright, be back in a bit," Rainbow says and flies off toward the Dojo.
I turn back to the Railjack and place a hand on what little of the hull is exposed. "Now then... how did you get buried here?" I ask it in thought.
An update! Worth the wait.
It lives :D!!
Good to see ya author.
I was starting to worry.
Good to see a new chapter up.
If it was Cephalon Shy, this would be really awkward really fast.
great to see this is alive and if this is a shy Cephalon maybe fluttershy can help lol and if they can get the rail jack up and going it will be a serious weapon against the griffins that thing is over powered if use right and against the a low tech cavillation compared to karn it will be like a human VS a ant hill
I glad that you finally bring this back. But, I got a very old question to ask? Why did Karn turn down poor Rainbow Dash's love to him?! I know it's something to do with his Tenno duty. But, does love exist in the Lotus' Tenno, right?!
10907320
Not a shy Cephalon, I mean Cephalon Shy (the youtuber)
10907398
ahhhh that makes more sense
😱🤯HE’S BACK!!!!🤯😱
10909635
Something I just came up with myself. It's not canon to Warframe.
10909657
Can you also answer my question too?
10909695
SPOILER I plan to have Karn let her down gently. Karn just doesn't have the time nor drive to fall in love.
10909698
Well that sucks, I thought that they will be romantic stuff happening eventually. After all, they will be together for many, many, many, and many years??!! And I thought Lotus might approve of it, or am I wrong?!
10909711
True, but Karn is immortal, Rainbow is not. And he's seen more than his share of fellow Tenno fall. He also sees the Tenno more as a family than anything else.
10909716
So, teammates, and "family"? Like Fairy Tail. 🙂
Their is another thing that I'm confused about? At first, Karn is reluctant to fight the Griffons in the beginning? It's because of the Tenno's rules: not to attack first, until the enemy attack the innocent nation first. Despite the Griffins being hostile already???!!!
And Luna ( And probably Shining ) might be unto something to stop the war much earlier. And I agree that taking down the Griffons, before they attack. Is possibly a "good plan", I think in their eyes?
But, I still didn't like her trying to force Karn, Rainbow Dash, and the other transformed Tenno-Mane Six, Big Mac, and Spike. To drafted them all into something that might not be a main concern for the Tenno, as of yet ( Because, the Infested/Technocyte is much, much worse than the Griffon War. And they have to deal with that first, than the Griffon Invasion. ).
And I still didn't like Shining for being a major ass against Karn for petty reasons, and trying to let the incompetent pony guard to be Tenno or get the advanced Tenno weapons is the most retarded decision ever!!!!! Luckily, Karn is smart enough to trust certain Ponies like the Mane Six, Spike, Big Mac, Shining Armor himself ( probably ) to be Tenno. And maybe more later.
And THEN, when the Griffons finally attack, Karn actually does something about it?! Geez, make up your mind, Karn??!!
10909764
He's not just going to let them attack. He'll send probes and drones to spy as well as use a stealth Warframe (most likely Ivara) to get more information. If and when the attack happens, Karn will have all the info he'll need to intercept and combat anything the Gryphons bring to fight with.
Other circumstances may force his hand early, we'll just have to see.
10909772
Very good choice to spy, have surveillance, and take extra precaution for Karn to plan ahead. And to finally one-shot the stupid and arrogant Griffons from trying to conquer Equestria, and the rest of the world.
The main reason why I talked about that issue earlier. Is that I have thought up of a scenario long ago, when Luna learns of Karn and the others finally takes action against the Griffons, after the Infested/Technocyte are taken care of. She will be a little peeved that if Karn was finally gonna take care of the Griffon invaders anyway. WHY didn't Karn acted upon them much sooner??!!
Then again, in Karn's defense. The Infested/Technocyte is much more important to finish off. Plus, he still has that rule from the Tenno "not to attack them first, unless they attack" or something along those lines?
And definitely doesn't want the nasty Griffons, or even untrustworthy Ponies to get his weapons, and other highly advanced technology that they don't comprehend or understand.
Yess!! Finally! A new chapter and your getting a railjack in the story! I knew you mentioned the surprise in the previous chapters about the Drydock! ^^ I have been a fan of your’s for years and I want to say I love this book and war machine. Also, I am thinking of making a crossover with this book and my own character who was “the Last Hope”.
Wait......
Arent Necromechs introduced and used because of Lotus/Natah's betrayal?
Following the Sentient's defeat at Operation: Scarlet Spear, Natah leads the second wave by teaching the machine-disabling Orphix to disable Warframes. The Tenno counter by deploying Necramechs, who are immune to the Orphix's pulse fields.
10914721
The necramechs existed long before that. Like the feral Necramech guardians in the Orokin vaults on Deimos you have to destroy. They were the precursor to the Warframes.
10914958
I know they existed before but weren't they only started being used by Tenno only because of Orphix disabling Warframes and Lotus/Natah's betrayal?
I wonder how Karn would react to Lotus/Natah actions or that she is a sentient mimic, etc
Or to that
10914969
We'll just have to wait and see!
10909764
10909802
I don't think he should interfere in the war at all and help either side
Like he said once in some previous chapter(If I remember correctly ). He will only interfere to help innocent on either side and he should stick to it.
I think Luna also had a problem with that for obvious reason but also because he admitted that he will help gryphons civilians, innocent too when ponies will go too far.
As for if gryphons will try to steal advanced technology.
He should stop them, yes
But that doesn't mean that he should join the war.
It should also apply to ponies and other races.
Remember that ponies would also try to steal this stuff like gryphons tried.
And in the end, it's an only a small part of them, like organization, part of it,or rouge members, etc trying to find new weapons.
He should only attack anyone in that war if they will try to for example massacre the whole village ,be it gryphons or ponies doing it
It's only beneficial for ponies, they would practically win a war and get all the spoils for free.
Tenno aren't there to keep the status quo for benefit of existing powers but to help innocent, and not to take sides.
Wars will happen no matter what, it's a matter of free will.
He should only interfere if either side will use unnecessary cruelty, like one example I pointed out before.
10907053
I got curious what is that special about this Cephalon and I just found this while searching for it on youtube XD
Then I found the channel
10914721
10914969
Wait, the Lotus herself is a "Traitor"??????!!!!! WHEN/WHY did that even happened??!! I may not be a hardcore fan, or barely know the lore/history of the Warframe Game. But, what you have just said is a game changer. And many other Tenno, and especially Karn would be devastated, and pissed off about this revelation!
Plus, Lotus's true name is Natah?!
10914982
He will probably be super, SUPER upset and pissed!!!! And is quite ironic that his own leader that he is most loyal to, was a "traitor" as well????!!!!
10914983
But, HOW would the Mane Six, Spike, Big Mac, Shining Armor, and many other Tenno-Pony Hybrids feel about being "neutral" about this?! And they can't help their nation, or even their own FAMILIES/LOVES ONES during the war??!! Really dude?! How could you forget about them, and would what they feel about that inaction?
Plus, I think Ebonheart would probably do something much different with his Tenno OC ( Karn ).
And if you think about it? It sounds like your making Karn into some sort of a "referee"? A referee of a "violent game" ( Reminiscent of the war itself. ) between the Ponies and Griffons. And he would only interfere, and give them a "warning/caution" ( By using his Tenno powers/weapons against either both of them. Including the Ponies too if they "try something stupid". ), IF they broke the "rules" ( By attacking Innocent Citizens, or "unnecessary cruel" for example. ).

A little spoiler from the wiki I put together that should give you a general idea
It is revealed that Lotus is a Sentient formerly named "Natah", and in some way responsible for the fall of the Orokin Empire. With the Empire in ruins and the Old War over, she refused to complete the final sequence of her mission: destroy the Tenno. She instead chose to become their "mother" after she had become sterile during the crossing to the Origin system, hiding the Tenno in the "second dream" to preserve them and betraying her father Hunhow.
In conversation with Teshin, the Lotus later claims to have destroyed whatever parts of her were Natah. Before the Tomb on Uranus is sealed, Hunhow warns her that the others of its kind have not taken kindly to her betrayal, and will attempt to bring her back into the fold.
Apostasy Prologue
The Operator meets the Lotus on Lua, but before they can speak, Ballas suddenly appears and promises not to abandon "Margulis" again. The Lotus removes her helmet and holds his hand without question, and the pair vanish before the Operator. The Operator, now confused and alone, collects Lotus' helmet. With her absence, Ordis synthesizes her mission directives until they can figure out her whereabouts.
Natah
Main article: Natah (Quest)
When the Tenno stumble upon an Oculyst that is searching for Old War wreckage, the Lotus initially mistakes it for a Corpus drone. After further analysis and discovering that it is of Sentient origin, the Lotus abruptly cuts contact with the Tenno. Teshin agrees to assist the Tenno in learning of the drone's origins, which trace back to a tomb on Uranus that Tyl Regor is attempting to excavate. The Lotus suddenly returns, stating she was covering her tracks, but Teshin's endangerment of the Tenno and Tyl Regor's excavation have forced her exposure.
The tomb is revealed to contain the Sentient Hunhow, destroyer of worlds, who calls for Natah. While the Tenno reseal the tomb, the Lotus reveals that "Natah" is her former name during her time as a Sentient, and was in some way responsible for the fall of the Orokin Empire. With the Empire in ruins and the Old War over, she refused to complete the final sequence of her mission: destroy the Tenno. She instead chose to become their "mother" after she had become sterile during the Void crossing to the Origin system, hiding the Tenno in the "second dream" to preserve them and betraying her father Hunhow.

The Sacrifice
Main article: The Sacrifice
The Operator searches for the now missing Lotus. They hear a voice in their Orbiter's personal quarters, which shows them a vision of Excalibur UmbraIcon272.png Excalibur Umbra being confronted by Ballas, a pack of Sentient Mimic who are subsequently destroyed by Umbra, and an unusual and unique type of Sentient who kills Umbra.
It is later revealed that the unusual Sentient who vaporizes Umbra is none other than the Lotus herself, now in her true Sentient form, descending from the sky to rescue Ballas after he was fatally wounded by the Operator and Umbra. Shocked and confused, the Operator asks the Lotus what Ballas did to her, but the Lotus replies saying that Ballas did nothing as this is what she is before blasting off into the sky leaving behind a confused and troubled Operator.
Chimera Prologue
Main article: Chimera Prologue
Following The Man in The Wall to Lua and falling into the same chamber where the Operator encountered the Lotus and Ballas in the Apostasy Prologue, the Operator enters a portal where they discover Ballas, now Sentient-turned, cursing the Lotus for her deception, by stealing his perfect death. As the Operator overhears his rambling, his eye suddenly glows, which he implies it to be the Lotus' vision. He eventually relinquishes his sword BallasSword.png Paracesis, which he calls the "Sentient slayer", to the Tenno in preparation for war with the Sentients. As the Tenno grabs the sword, Ballas abruptly turns to face them and the Lotus' whisper calling for the Tenno can be heard.
The Jovian Concord
Main article: Fragments/Partnership
Natah formed an unlikely partnership with Alad V, instructing him to create the Amalgams, Grineer/Corpus hybridized with Sentient powers. These new units, along with their combat data against the Tenno, would further serve the Sentients in their preparation for The New War.
During the mission to kill the Ropalolyst, Natah informs the Tenno them that the belief that she spared them as an act of mercy was false: rather that she was forced into doing so by the Orokin, and that they were both "imprisoned in Lua's belly", shedding light on the events of the Apostasy Prologue as a result. Natah also addresses that she "has seen the wall's other face", implying that during her time in her chambers on Lua, that the Void affected her as well with The Man in The Wall. Furthermore, she establishes the Tenno as the evil entity for the "destruction of my people" following the Ropalolyst's defeat, and foreshadows the events to come in The New War.
Erra
Main article: Erra (Quest)
A flashback of the Old War shows Natah's original defection against the Sentients, and introduces for the first time Natah's own brother: Erra. He is shown attacking a wounded female Dax soldier in a huge cave full of Reservoirs under the surface of Lua, when Natah herself, already turned into the Lotus, intervenes with a group of Tenno (among which there is the Operator) ordering him to stop. Erra shows anger and sadness seeing how the "Makers" have made Natah, the "Queen of the Aphids", turn against her own family, blaming them for what happened, and then urges her to choose between her true family and the parasites, the Tenno. She, however, states that she is not Natah but the Lotus, and then proceeds to make the Tenno attack Erra with their Void Beams.
The Operator is then brought back in the present, finding themselves aboard a Sentient Mothership. In a situation similar to Chimera Prologue, the Operator assists to a dialogue between Natah, now returned to her original Sentient form, and Erra himself, who has apparently taken the lead of the Sentient army and keeps the Sentient-turned Ballas on a leash. It is shown how Natah is suffering from memory lapses, still believing the Orokin to be alive and to be during the Old War. Erra makes Ballas confirm that the Orokin are indeed dead, the "bios" (presumably Grineer/Corpus) are divided and only the Tenno remain a threat. Natah identifies the Tenno as the enemy and blames Ballas for creating them in order to face the Sentients. Erra however, points out how Natah now has "something our people never had before" and to be "stained by their wickedness". Natah reveals to be aware that the Operator is listening to their conversation, but both Sentients show not to be concerned by it. Erra then asks Natah to "sing" for all Sentients, calling them home and Natah proceeds to do so, knocking the Operator away and calling reinforcements for the upcoming New War.
The Maker
Main article: The Maker
Erra is telling Natah that their mother is gone and urges her to finish the war as she still has her fire. Natah notes that she remembers ordering the Tenno to attack Erra and he was apparently destroyed. Erra objects and states that she remembers wrong and will need time to completely heal from what the Makers had done to her. Natah points at leashed Ballas and asks if he is one of the Makers.
Erra then suddenly grabs and throws Natah at the pedestal behind him. She is trapped in some kind of trance and her body slightly expands. Erra tells her once more to finish the war and drops the leash from his hand. Now the freed amalgam Ballas stands tall for the first time since his incarceration. Both Erra and Ballas then silently stare at Natah.
Operation: Orphix Venom
Main article: Operation: Orphix Venom
Following the Sentient's defeat at Operation: Scarlet Spear, Natah leads the second wave by teaching the machine-disabling Orphix to disable Warframes. The Tenno counter by deploying Necramechs, who are immune to the Orphix's pulse fields. As the war continues, Natah reveals to the Tenno her role in the Orphixes, but secretly transmits a code to them that says "I AM DYING".
It's complicated,I think.....from what I know so far
My general idea is that:
Natah was a sentient mimic and send as a spy to Orokin.
Ballas was an Orokin that wanted to betray Orokin
Margulis was a scientist that wanted so save the children of the Zariman Ten Zero.
Her actions created Tenno and warframes.
Later Orokin wanted to make them soldiers. She opposed that, was removed from the project, and later executed for defending the Tenno.
From what I think happened was that Ballas was in love with Margulis.Because of her death he decided to betray Orokin and join Sentient.
Natah from memories of Tenno copies Margulis image, personality, etc
Together they were able to turn Tenno against Orokin.
The last step was for her to kill Tenno.
But for some reason, she decides to become their mother. So she betrays Sentient, her father Hunhow, and her brother Erra.
And later in the times of the game, she betrays Tenno and joins Margulis and later Sentient again.
So she betrays everyone 3 times?
There is still a debate if she was brainwashed, fell too deep into the character of Margulis or really deeply cared for Tenno like Margulis.
Even then she is still punished for betrayal
Like in here
The Maker
Following the Sentient's defeat at Operation: Scarlet Spear, Natah leads the second wave by teaching the machine-disabling Orphix to disable Warframes. The Tenno counter by deploying Necramechs, who are immune to the Orphix's pulse fields. As the war continues, Natah reveals to the Tenno her role in the Orphixes, but secretly transmits a code to them that says "I AM DYING".
And I think Natah betrayed 4 times because Ballas got bad part of the deal
The Orokin is revealed to be Sentient-turned and is mourning for the loss of his narcissistically beautiful Orokin body all while cursing the Lotus for her deception, by stealing his perfect death. As he rambles, his eye suddenly glows, which he implies to be the Lotus's vision. He eventually offers his sword BallasSword.png Paracesis, which he calls the "Sentient slayer", to the Tenno in preparation for war with the Sentients. As they grab the sword, Ballas abruptly turns to face them as the Lotus's whisper for the Tenno can be heard.

That's the thing
If I remember correctly that's how he introduced why he won't help ponies win the war.
He is not their soldier,he is nobody's soldier.
Tenno has no right to intervene in situations like that without making things worse.
Just because he knows a couple citizens of the country in war doesn't mean he can just win a war for them.
A country vs country is between 2 nations only.
I'm pretty sure that something like that was written in first chapters, in general way, if I remember correctly.
He can't decide to just go win a war for ponies for just that little reason.
It's a completely different situation when Grineer or Corpus attacks less advanced and innocent people and their planet to exploit.
They probably would be allowed to help their family to evacuate.
But helping the family in the army or just joining the army crosses the line and makes them just another soldier.
Tenno shouldn't choose sides in a war that aren't their business.
How would you feel if superheroes would decide to help a enemy country win a war, that is attacking your country(or in reverse), just because they have a friend in there?
While also missing the bigger picture of why the war happened in the first place.Tenno would just become judges of who is right and who is wrong on that flawed view.
Wars aren't white and black, they are gray.
Wars like WW1 and WW2 aren't grey because of atrocities committed ,that's when Tenno should intervene.Like I pointed before.
Saving innocent,etc
Ponies and gryphons are the same, both want his weapons for their gain.
10915393
So basically, despite being a friend or "ally" to the Ponies. And even have Ponies like the Main Six, Big Mac, Shining Armor, and a Dragon like Spike to join the Tenno/Warframes. And possibly more Pony, Griffon, Dragon, or other MLP Race recruits. IF he wanted to expand, and are loyal enough to use their new powers/weapons and warframe wisely?!
He won't exactly help solve their problems, specifically for war. Since, he is NOT their soldier to begin with. He is no mercenary for hire or anything like that. Plus, he is loyal to the Tenno and Lotus ( But for Lotus, for HOW long? Once he learns the dreadful, but very complicated truth about Lotus/Natah. ).
10915343
Woah, that is long! And you do realize that there is some repeated sentences, here and there?
10915416
Yes, that the whole point
He isn't there to solve that kind of problem for Equestria.Every planet has this kind of thing
But you just basically wrote that he should join the war in previous comments .
He is a friend just to a couple of ponies, not to the nation
He is supposed to help and protect every creature.
He isn't loyal to any nation, but neutral to every nation.
Also, they decided to become Tenno on their own. They knew what they were going into.
He explained to them what it means to be a Tenno.
If they can't follow through he will take their wepoans and warframes away.
Because they are artificial Tenno , Infested in his ship maybe able to reduce their power
It's so odd to me that everyone thinks of the Tenno like some sort of "think of the innocents!"-type martyrs, who only move to save people in trouble, when they literally spend 99% of their time doing missions for rewards. They are literally hired by both the grineer and corpus for invasion missions to fight on THEIR sides. I mean, one of the missions is literally just called "exterminate". The grineer or corpus just minding their own dang business when Ordis/Fake-Lotus decides, "yeah, it's time to randomly just kill 200 motherfudgers haha it's gonna be great".
First and foremost, Tenno are mercenaries. Most of everything they do, they do for money, blueprints, or relics. The quests in the game is not the standard, it's not their modus operandi. The quests are the *exceptions*.
10915973
Yeah but both factions are massive and unless they don't fight each other they will find a vulnerable pray and also focus their attention on Tenno.
They have to be occupied by fighting each other.
Tenno just exploit the situation , they get rewards while also killing their enemies and prolonging the conflict between them.
And these things he won't get on Equestria. Money is useless unless used on the planet, and has no reason to buy anything, blueprints none and if any are stolen for example from shipwrecks, it would be easier to steal them back while they can't reverse engineer them or use them relics same thing
And neither kingdoms as a whole, officially are his enemies or allies.Even in Equestria, he has enemies, 2 high-ranking ones, Luna and Shining armor. While they aren't real enemies, yet, they won't hesitate to steal his stuff if there will be a opportunity
10917823
Yeah, there IS a war going on, sure. But that still doesn't change the fact that the Tenno are mercenaries. They are hired by the corpus and the grineer to do things for them, which is by definition mercenary work. The fact that the Tenno are part of armed conflicts with the people they are hired by is beside the point. If they kill for money they still kill for money.
I don't mind you doing these mental gymnastics to justify the behavior, but it doesn't really change the fact that the Tenno profit both directly (paid by grineer/corpus), and indirectly (straight up steal shit).
Regardless of your justifications, the Tenno are mercenaries.
10918042
Even if then, he won't work for either side.
They aren't some any mercenary that would accept offers from anyone to attack anyone
Tenno are already enemies with corpus and the grinner,so they don't have to worry about the consequences.
But ponies would want him to join the war, win it for them, maybe even kill gryphon king, sure he killed the old one, but ponies won't stop and will use the easy win to do whatever they want with Gryphonia.
Also, can't hire a mercenary if you can't pay anyway.
Also, Luna seems interested into making an army of Tenno hybrid ponies and taking his technology.
No Tenno would accept that and even if some careless Tenno would agree ponies again wouldn't be able to pay .
Also from chapter 8
Also, the war, for now, isn't declared.

lol I never said that he HAD to do anything. The guy can do whatever he likes, he can use whatever justifications he likes, he can even lie about it if he wants to. All I said was that the Tenno are mercenaries. They kill people for money. That's it. That was the entire statement on what the Tenno does. I never said that being a mercenary obliges them to take on every contract offered, so I'm not sure why you're acting as if that was my point.
Karn doesn't have to fight the gryphons if he don't want to, but that doesn't change the fact of what he is - which is a Tenno.
As for money, Karn doesn't have any (that he can actually use in Equestria, to be more precise). As far as I can tell he's subverting the Equestrian economy in its entirety. He's not a citizen, but he owns property. He doesn't pay taxes, but he has a mining operation where he's extracting materials that has worth in the Equestrian state. I mean, it's not like anyone can ask the immortal ageless void demon to get an actual job and pay some taxes, right? lol
