In the modern era, the world’s population is divided among far-flung, independent city-states separated by vast stretches of uninhabited territory. These cities are united by satellite communication, trade, and the Zoid Battle Commission. Ambitious leaders gather talented Zoid pilots into teams in order to participate in the Commission’s organized and highly-regulated combat engagements, all in the hopes of winning fame and fortune on the battlefield. Zoid battles have become the most popular form of entertainment in the world, and the services and industries required by Zoid teams drive the economies of whole cities. This is the story of Sunset Shimmer, her friends, and their adventures in the industry of professional Zoid combat.

After what I have briefly scanned through, I may have looked over some errors. I am leaving a dislike for the misuse of nicknames and misuse of commas. Also, how is this related to Equestria Girls? All you had to do was add the human tag, and people would know they were humans! Which you already did I noticed. Remember periods are also your friends!

5310847 I did another punctuation sweep to see if there was anything else I missed. I also decided to take some of the Ozarks out of Applejack's Ozarks accent to make her dialogue easier to read. Calling Sunset Shimmer "Sunset" stands, however. It seems weird to me to be bothered by that, but not by calling Pinkie Pie "Pinkie" or Rainbow Dash "Dash." If that means your dislike also still stands, well, thanks for calling my attention to my grammatical errors.

Vinyl Scratch loves her some unconventional combat. Later chapters will bring into focus the differences between her and Sunset Shimmer. There'll be some exploration of the contrast between Sunset's talent for picking apart her opponents' strategic reasoning and Vinyl's apparent lack of said reasoning. Their rivalry will become a bit more direct once Sunset Shimmer gets her own Zoid.
Fun fact: All of the Vinyl Scratch chapters will be named after songs.

The anime defines two Zoids as Ultimate Xs: Liger Zero and the Berserk Fury. However, there was a third Ultimate X that never appeared in the show: Liger Zero Empire.
The Liger Zero started life as the Guylos Empire's first Liger-type Zoid, and was meant to surpass all of the Helic Republic's various Ligers. It was fast, resilient, and extremely customizable due to the Changing Armor System. It carried a special type of Organoid System known as the Wild Zoid System (referred to as the Organoid System in the show), a trait it shared with Berserk Fury.
Helic Republic spies got hold of the designs for Liger Zero, including the basic CAS (though not the Zero X CAS), and even the schematics and software for the Wild Zoid System. Leveraging their centuries of experience designing and manufacturing Liger-class Zoids, the Republic put the Liger Zero into limited production, along with their own CAS designs: Jaeger, Schneider, and Panzer. In response, the Guylos Empire renamed their prototype Liger Zero Empire, and reworked the Berserk Fury. Once envisioned as a heavy assault machine, the Berserk Fury became purpose-built to bring down Liger Zero.
Zero Empire only ever got the Liger Zero X CAS, which carried electron blades that allowed it to fight almost on par with the Schneider in melee and fire what can only be called bolts of artificial lightning at range. The Berserk Fury originally rolled out with only its stock CAS, but the Storm Fury CAS was later released, giving it massive thrusters for extra speed at the expense of its ranged weaponry -except its integral charged particle cannon.
When the Neo-Zenebas Empire conquered Guylos from within, they discarded many Guylos designs, including both Ultimate X Zoids, and several less-expensive models that had been the backbone of the Guylos military. However, a great deal of the knowledge gained while designing Liger Zero Empire went into the Neo-Zenebas Empire's Energy Liger, and the Helic Republic's Liger Zero continued to serve. The extreme cost of the Liger Zero, along with the nature of its Wild Zoid System, drastically limited production. It was only mobilized in elite units, who usually only had a single CAS type available. A shock assault unit typically only had Zero Jaegers, for example.
The anime presents an alternate version of Liger Zero's development, where only the stock CAS existed until Doctor Toros invented Jaeger, Schneider, and Panzer. Zero X never appeared. The anime's presentation of the Zoids story tends to be very flexible, going as far as to present Liger Zero and the Berserk Fury as unique machines when in fact they were mass-produced.
In the alternate timeline presented in Equestria Girls /0, the Ultimate X Zoids are, along with several other rare and powerful machines, the stuff of myth and legend. There is very little evidence to suggest they ever existed, and people who go looking for them are often scoffed at or even openly mocked. Most such individuals, known as "legend chasers," disguise their efforts. They do legitimate and widely-accepted salvage work, exploring the ancient and forgotten bases and supply caches left behind by the civilizations that warred in ages long past, hauling out the likes of Dibisons and Helcats while secretly hoping to uncover a Geno Saurer, Lightning Saix, or another myth left behind by time. Twilight Sparkle's little project is a very unusual Zoid, but that's all I'm sayin'.
7344392 um i didn't ask for an in depth description of an ultimate x, i asked what zoids from the shows do you think are ultimate x zoids other than the berserk fury and liger zero since they are already confirmed.
Those are the only Ultimate X Zoids.
7347236 thats where i have to say this. the berserk fury and the liger zero are the only ones confirmed to be ultimate xs. now if i recall correctly Dr. Laon stated an ultimate x to be any zoid with an iOS. and the system gives the zoids in question some level of sentience which in turn makes them extremely powerful zoids. and since we never saw if they had pilots this is why i believe that the fire phoenix and the jet falcon are ultimate x zoids (or at least the anime versions are). and the battle story doesn't have ultimate x zoids, in fact the wiki page for ultimate x's states that while the organoid system in the battle story is similar, it is not an iOS.

It was created to be the successor to the berserk fury. now why would the replace an ultimate x? Because the Gairyuki is a stronger ultimate x. that could be the only explanation.

note i just found this and will make further comments this will be just the first one
ok first we must consider the minimum range of vinyls cannons you mentioned 30 km so i'll use those numbers for this.
the zoid dash is piloting has a maximum speed of 3.2 times the speed of sound essentially the fastest thing on the battlefield. if she was smart about this she could in theory use a boom and zoom tactic following applejacks defeat. accelerating to maximum speed or simply a high enough speed and then when close enough unload on her with everything she has without getting into melee with a T- Rex based zoid. before using her speed to zoom away and gain altitude. this is if successfull a way to wear her down and potentially force her to overheat her guns to try and hit her.
before AJ fell however and after rose was shot down she could have acted as a distraction either forcing vinyl to choose between targeting her or aj you can't pick both when you have that much power drain and overheating occuring given the limited power and space of of a goujula with ECM.
if I'm wrong then thats ok but given my limited (e.g almost none i remember watching new gen 0 almost 10 years ago barely.) this is my opinion on ways they could have won. but given the hint at the end i belive the second one was the better option after all they are only human and even we have limits on what we can focus on.

Your first suggestion is the plan that Sunset would have formulated had Rainbow Dash given her a minute or two to think. She would have been inspired by Dash's low-altitude flying before to suggest trying to go under the minimum vertical traverse of the anti-air laser. This would have worked, as well. Unlike the main cannons, the AA laser on the Scratched Gojulas cannot angle downwards very far. With timing, luck, and some white-knuckle piloting, Rainbow could have theoretically used her wing blades to carve Vinyl's Zoid up like a Thanksgiving turkey.
I've had way too many irons in the fire to work on this project anywhere near as much as I'd like. I'm thinking of chopping and editing some of my notes into background fluff so folks can get familiar with Neo-Equestria.
At last, you updated. I'm eagerly waiting for the next chapter.

There won't be any new Zoid chassis invented by me in this story. I've pushed the limits in terms of customization for some existing Zoid types (the Dark Horn Applejack Special in particular) but I made myself a rule to have feature only Zoids that exist in the model kit lines, if not the TV shows. Even the Rainbow Jerk. I'm tempted to assemble a team of pilots who all hold incredibly unreasonable grudges against Rainbow Dash, symbolized by their all-Rainbow Jerk stable. Possibly as one of Sunset Shimmer's bonkers dream sequences.

I was bouncing around looking for a new Zoid for Rarity (having decided to deprive her of her Zaber Fang, though not yet how) when I hit upon a certain retrofit of a certain Zoid that only exists as a very rare model kit that was briefly available, which I thought complimented her style of combat quite nicely. It doesn't have a CAS, I'll give that away, but it's a high-quality piece of machinery, and the (pun absolutely intended) rarity of it would probably appeal to her as well.
Not to worry though, there will be at least one CAS Zoid running around Neo Equestria before we're done.
