This was quite the read.
I really enjoyed the concept of a Red Dawn-style type of story with the CMC. This would turn out to be a very good story if it was continued. 
Meh. Nice idea, sir, but the short length leaves no hook to latch onto. If this was some epic tale, I'd be all about it. But things are too rushed.

I liked this. It's a fun stand alone story that could also be fleshed out into something bigger. A fun way to start a Sunday morning.

Oh God, this is just beautiful.
CMC Wolverines is an amusing idea, but sadly I think this one tries to stretch it a bit far, basically picking 'X is the Cubans, Y is the Russians, Princesses/Mane 6 are the Government...'
Plus if it were Red Dawn, then Canterlot would stand strong and Rainbow Dash would end up crashed in the Everfree Forest
I'd love for this to be continued.
Here's hoping you watched the original (with Patrick Swayze
) and not the remake(with that kid from The Hunger Games
).

There's something deeply unsettling about seeing this kind of tragedy in Equestria for me, but I'm weird like that! I did enjoy the story though, especially since you avoided going into too much detail regarding the suffering of the oppressed.
