This is a great idea for a story line so far and the main character seems interesting I wonder where you'll take the story. Plus if possible longer chapters are always nice unless something comes up then it's understandable.

There will likely be more backstory told in later chapters but for now it is not explained. If you want to connect his powers to mythology, you could; but that's up to you. But remember, he is Greek.

Also, I like Nova. He feels like a mix of the Greek Sun God Helios, and the Archangels Imperius and Tyrael from Diablo 3, with a little of the Angelus from THe Darkness comics and videogames.
