They do indeed get together in the end. I was originally going to leave it ambiguous, but without really making clear if Rarity still loved Twilight or not, but I'm a sucker for implied happy endings, so I made Rares' feelings a little clearer.

I'm not gonna lie. This killed my earlier mood. It's scary how a guy that feels almost nothing can have his stomach twisted and crushed by some simple sadness relayed through hoerswords.

Making the love rival the genderbent equivalent of the main love interest is taking your otp to the next level. I don’t know if that should be considered angst or the same thing. I’m not really going to start questioning it right now while my sanity is still intact. But then again I am into a fandom about Horses so I don’t know what I should consider as a sane decision.
I enjoyed this little one-shot! RariTwi is surprisingly adorable and honestly rising up on my list of favored pairings. Huh.
A very interesting piece! I really like a lot of the drama and more almost-melancholy elements in many of your older one shots, but it sucks because now there's some I just can't find anymore. I remember there being one that addressed the issue of Spike so wonderfully, and now it appears to be gone. Is it on No Crow now? I really liked it, and alts are a great place for dumping stuff like that.
The lack of cover art was the only thing that was really odd about this, but I really love how you frame Rarity's bisexuality in your stories and how authentic it feels. The drama that always finds its way into your work, and even stay so grounded at times is great stuff.
Not every story needs a happy ending, and not everything should have one. This was a fantastic surprise.
Goodness, I keep coming back to this one. It's one of my favorite Mono stories. Thank you for bringing it back.
