This was very helpful, thank you. So we have a variation of Noblebright WH40000 canon? I can see why you think this is much more compatible with FiM universe, still there are some more questions, if you don't mind
Inqusitorial Nerd mode activated
1)This whole "posthuman" idea. In WH40000 canon Astartes are limited in numbers because almost every change in their body comes from implanted "geneseed", wich based on such of their Primarch (whose in turn was created by the Emperor from his own DNA ). Reproduction of gene-seed is possible through the Progenoid glands - an implant whose sole purpose is the replication of gene-seed. Also women can't be SM due to the simple fact that geneseed was designed for male body. What lies behind that "ascent" in your version?
2)What about mutants and Ubhumans? What about Psykers (of all kinds) and Navigators? Adeptus Mechanicus (who always were some kind of technofascists)? What is your version of Adepta Sororitas, because originally they were post-Heresy religious Orders, and "Teh Emprah" outlawed religion, so...
3)Who substitutes for billions of Imperial Gurads and trillions of PDF soldiers? I must say that possible absence of IG saddens me. After all they are most realistic, various, humane, down-to-earth faction in original WH40000. They are also proud wielders of "Army Principle" (wich is great for lulz)
4)Any chance that some or Xeno races from canon are here?

I think that is all for now, I hope that I wasn't rude.
Thanks again for making this fic.
Edit : Those Proud and Fateful Servants of the God-Emperor kindly reminded me (via some rectalthermal analyser) that I forgot to mention them.

Way to go Applejerk.
Answer to 1: Basically the Emperor (unhindered by the presence of the 40k chaos gods) was able to continue his work on human genetic modification and human technology. This means that although astartes had to, at first, be implanted with the gene-seed organs, now they develop them naturally between the ages of 6-12 (this is due to thousands of years of gene manipulation). No, sisters are still relatively human and hold no particular superhuman qualities, they serve primarily as the means of reproduction and stand as the imperiums' poster-boys (girls). Space marine gene seeds are used to clone said space marines in a matter of weeks, reborn with few to no memories of their former selves. Humanities numbers are still relatively few due to the harsh training regimes and induction trails. Normally only 1 in 100 humans live to become scouts, let alone battle brothers.
Answer to 2: Mutants are very rare, the Emperor was very thorough when finalising human gene coding. Although such mutations are still present as part of chapter traits such as Space Wolves being wolf-like, Thousand Sons being red skinned and Blood angels being vampires that suffer from severe bipolar disorder. I am even including a single chapter of space marines that have been heavily affected by warp energies through accidental means and slowly turn more physically demonic over time (though theur minds and souls do remain pure and untainted). Psykers are present in the form of librarians, but have a much greater control over their abilities due to the imperiums reflection in the 'warp' (which I use for a term for the afterlife), and generally are much less grim than their 40k alternates. Navigators have now been bred out of humanity, as the Emperor (again) made warp travel much safer and easier to traverse with the technology he worked on whilst he retired back to terra. The mechanicus are still around in the form of techpriests and their biomechanical assistants who are androids bred on forgeworlds (think like the ones from Alien). The Imperial cult (including the ecclesiarchy) is present but in a much more relaxed, toned down fashion. Much less a religion, more a well thought out faith. As much as the Emperor still dismisses the notion that he is a god, all humans hold a calm belief that in some way he is. So the sisters act much more like the friendly faces the rest of the galaxy see rather than the brutalities of the space marine chapters (of whom most are 10,000 strong by the way).
Answer to 3: Primarily the Verluthiens, but many other alien races also contribute vast military numbers to common causes alongside humans. Verluthiens are actually more diverse than imperial guard, as each world or star system governs its own military and culture. Some are akin to the marines from Halo, others the refugees from The Matrix. Their situations and abilities vary hugely and allow the mind to experiment with the possibilities greatly. They are also the race that may pose the greatest threat to the Imperium in the years to come, as they are very much like humans used to be.
Answer to 4: Unfortunately Orcs are one of the closest. They breed in the same way (spores) and act in the same way, but are generally smaller than Orks, although they a wider variety of sub species that are more common place (Orcs, goblins, hobgoblins, trolls, wretches). Vacta are very similar in mannerisms to Eldar, and Dorp resemble Ogrin slightly, but overall any race from warhammer 40k needs to be highly tailored to fit into the MLP world. So instead of tailoring EVERY race, I decided to take my favourite, one other from a different franchise, and make up the rest from scratch.
Thanks for your questions, love the image (Which reminds me; in case you wondered, the only human Inquisition force are the grey knights as to fit in with the rest of the fan-fluff).
I love it when applejack and dash get put in their place
bitch got told
another epic chapter
1387723 40k fluff frequently shows that imperial ships can enter atmosphere -> http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-maNTIfSZA5o/T_hxGdg5EaI/AAAAAAAACOU/l8cZ-1RDJDs/s1600/ImperialGuardSacrifice-1.jpg (Notice the cruiser in the background). I imagine imperial ships use their void shields to smash through the atmosphere when landing. Although I also imagine this leaves them shield-less for a while as they recharge.
Yes!
Even if she could (which they would shrug off any attempt to, espcially since it took the Elements which probably won't affect them and that Celestia cannot use), they would be unbothered by it and would be back in ten seconds flat.
Actually, they're close enough together and far enough away from "friendly" communities that a single shot from orbit would safely wipe them out.
