A man wakes up in a hospital surrounded by ponies, and learns that he arrived the previous night after carrying a princess to their doors. The princess was terribly injured, and he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The strangest thing of all? The ponies are more concerned than he is about everything!

The story is good, that much is true, but there is just something about it that makes it awkward to read. It could just be the fact that I don't ususally read stories with people who have amnesia in them. Anyhow, the story seems pretty good so far.
I started thinking that Philip might be a werewolf, but now I'm thinking it might some Van Helsing type of deal, though mainly dealing with werewolves

If it weren't for that beginning scene I would say that Philip doesn't seem to be a werewolf... He seems to have quite a few traits of a vampire... Loves the night, super speed, hearing, smell, sight and strength... He also knows plenty about various mythical monsters, especially werewolves, which is something that most vampires seem to share these days... One of the biggest problems is that he's out and about during the day unless he's one of the types that can survive the sun.
