This is my new favourite fanfic. It's awesome, and everything I had hoped my own fanfic would be. It's far, far better than I can manage. One small thing though - are you sure you meant 'kueen' and not 'queen'?

The freeing of Twilight from Nihilus came a chapter or two earlier than I expected but these past two chapters were pretty damn awesome.

Really digging the story, can hardly complain about you making us wait 2 weeks when its been over a month since a couple of my favorite fics updated. Care to give a touch more detail on this upcoming comedy piece? Characters, setting, maybe even a dialogue teaser?

I don't think I'll give dialogue teaser, just because I honestly have no idea what I'd pick, and it would probably end up being two pages long. I will say that the story centers around the mane six as they prepare for the Summer Sun Celebration once again. Except Fluttershy is missing, so Pinkie decides to play detective as she searches for her. Dash volunteers to tame the birds in place of Fluttershy, and Applejack is dealing with a bit of an identity crisis. Hopefully it will be funny, but it's hard to tell when I don't have an audience to gauge. If nothing else, it's a nice short break from Grimdark, and I'm doing something new.

Hey AB. You sir are awesome. Out of all the fanfics I have read, yours is the only one that I absolutely recommend to any brony. I might just be some line of words on the screen, but this is the only fanfic which I take seriously. I love how you write fight scenes, I adore how you can set the mood that all hope is lost, only to grab me and tell me it's alright. If this was youtube, I would subscribe to your channel, favorite it, even make it my home page. Keep writing.

and then the whole chapter got 20% Cooler and my mind just exploded

It's probably getting a bit redundant on saying how much I love this fic, but I do. I love how you portray everypony, it's believable and powerful and I can easily picture everything that's going on and it leaves me wanting more. I can't wait to read the next chapter.

This shit is cash! I'm so glad I read this after reading your comedy piece.

I love this story and realize you probably don't care, but I noticed a little something. While you are an amazing writer, there seems to be one convention you are unfamiliar with. When someone is speaking and a paragraph ends, yet they continue speaking in the next one, there is no need for a closing quotation mark. For example, this passage:

“-Not Princess Luna, Princess Celestia,” Rarity corrected, leaning in and whispering in a conspiratorial tone, her grudge seemingly forgotten. “In the middle of her throne room, while she was holding court. They failed, obviously. In any case, her assailant wore a grey cloak, and wearing the color has become a major faux pas. The entire aristocracy has to reorder their summer wardrobe.”

I do care. I absolutely care. This isn't even something I'm doing that could be construed as right or that anyone could have a disagreement about. This is objectively wrong. A friend of mine has been on my ass about this lately, too.

That said, I probably won't do an editing run over the earlier chapters specifically to knock out the hanging quotes. It's just way to much effort for something I see as relatively small. If I ever need to do an editing run over them in the future (Dear Celestia I hope not, I've been over parts 1-3 exactly six times each,) I'll be sure to take them out. For now, though, My new chapters will just do things right.

It's coming. I'm actually two chapters ahead of the published fic. I just want to release the best Ponies Make War that I can, which means making everypony wait longer than I anticipated. I'd rather break my word and seem like a bad pony than release a chapter that isn't up to my standards (which grow higher every day.) I fully intend to once again settle into a regular release schedule again after part 9.

I would like to preface this post by saying I love your work and have followed it ever since I first found it. I am anxiously awaiting yet more of the series.

I have a few questions about Chap 10 though...

1. King of the world's Shield - I thought Emperyan created the shield? Or does he simply maintain it while Titan actually created it?

2. Shield breaking - You rather skipped over the whole shield breaking and confusion. I'm guessing because it's done in perspective and TS decided to take a fainting right after? You built it up quite a bit, but then just went and poofed it without any real response/reaction.

I hope Twilight & Sparkle decide to put their game-face on and start actually fighting... I'd love to see her 'blade'. Assuming she can make one, for some reason I'm envisioning a matched pair, one for each facet of her new split psyche. What do you think of 'Dusk' and 'Dawn'. Probably a bit too emotional for the egghead.

Well, this is the first time I've actually commented, though I've been eagerly reading this story for the past two days straight. I absolutely love it, it just can't be topped. I initially decided to read it because LUNA, but then got really into the story.

My favourite line this chapter? Then, she shot upward and kicked the King of the world in the face.

It's just the best. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to check out the tropes page, and then watch the hours and days tick by until December 22. This is going to be physically painful, since I started reading the day before this chapter came out, I haven't had to wait before...

Great story. Except for Ch. 2 Rainbow Dash is my favorite character so that kind of sucked

I just read all of this in one sitting because it was just THAT awesome. Two things to say.

1. I LOVE all the Dungeons and Dragons references. I'm in the middle of replaying BG2, so Carsomyr and Vorpal Blade made me giddy. Esteem makes a funky Paladin but oh well... Also, everyone's favorite spell, Magic Missile made me happy. My only disappointment is that Rarity never got her Zerth blade... ;)

2. The demise of Nix made me a sad camper. My favorite character, gone in a flash. Ah well, it had to happen, and I can't say it wasn't done well...

I've been following this story through EqD before you posted it here. Now that I can finally comment on it, let me just say that I'm so glad none of this has been rendered obselete by the canon. It's one of my favorite darkfics ever, the action scenes are so awesome and well detailed. Rarity's relationship with her real father is quite dramatic, too. The whole bladecasting concept? Just badass.

Alos, dat cover image. Echoing the one above me, Nihilus Nix Naught is my favorite character in the story. I can't say I was sad to see her gone considering all the things she did, but those things are what made her such a good antagonist

i wouldn't  be surprised if you cutie mark is a parchment and quill, for you my man have a talent for writing. it howl story has the best writing i have ever seen in a fanfic, the way you portray the characters, the story, the level of detail is amassing  and the over all feeling of the text is outstanding. if feels just as im reading a real book. love everything about it and my thanks to you for this AWESOME fanfic (keep the chapters coming)

Awesome! This chapter was excellent! (Although I did miss Rarity's bad-ass-ery just a bit... I know she'll be back.) Celestia's back, yay! It's really good to see this characterisation of Celestia and Luna, because it's very different from the majority of stories. Celestia as someone useful is really good to see.

But do you know what I really, really want to know? Where is Spike? Thoughts of what he might be going through are disturbing... anyway, I really look forward to the next chapter, with the whole team being more amazing, and Celestia making her move. It's all very exciting! So I hope you update this very soon, though understandably it'll take a while for a chapter of the continued quality you produce.

Now I have to sit and wait... AGAIN...

It's implied incest at best. Amongst what best equates to 'Gods'. That and even that's somewhat dubious considering that Emperyan seemingly popped up out of nowhere. I'm not even referring to him being granted all of Celestia's powers so much as the King and Queen 'made' him seemingly overnight.
