Spike would probably spend the entire time sweating because he'd be worried about what might happen while in front of Rarity. That, and he'd be worried about where he might be caught looking...
As for getting rid of the statues, he'll think of something, I sure. Might not be a good idea in the end, but at the time I'm sure it will be brilliant.
