A side story to koolerkid's My Little Avengers: http://www.fimfiction.net/story/15715/My-Little-Avengers

Thunderlane, a simple soldier in the royal guard, has been reassigned to Avenger's Mansion at the behest of Princess Luna to act as liaison between them and the growing paramilitary group known as S.H.I.E.L.D.

From this new position, Thunderlane will make powerful friends, face powerful enemies and realize his destiny as the second armored Avenger... The War Machine!

I'm am really liking this so far. I will admit that I found Thunderlane an interesting choice for War Machine, both in terms of giving the armour to a Pegasus and in terms of personality (though admittedly I only know the movie version of Rhodey) but I am liking Thunderlane so far.

Its nice to see a military character that's an optimist and genuinely more concern about protecting the innocent than receiving glory. I also felt your interactions with interactions with the established characters was nicely done.

Though the big thing me is going to the introduction of Thor/Big Mac. He is honestly my favourite part of this universe

The technology side is actually well handled. I'm always iffy about introducing too magic technology into equestrian (even when its said to be magic based) but you made it work.

The shield side still needs a bit more time to develop but it looks promising.

We're still in the opening act but I will be watching to see where this goes.

VERY promising start! My Little Avengers was one of the first fics I ever followed on this site, so seeing a side story is great, especially since it seems Kooler Kid has abandoned the idea. Sad, because Trixie as Doctor Doom would have been so badass...

You need to watch your formatting. Several paragraphs are stacked right on top of one another. Regardless, I can't wait to read on! :ajsmug:

Mhm, a fun ride!

... am I going to hell for feeling with Hammer a little? I mean, it's really not fair, is it?

Thunderlane shook his head in disdain. “Well, I’m not a mutant. And I just kicked your butt.”

Thunderlane shrugged. “Take that for what it is.”

You used a mutant's technology. Your point is invalid. Nice try, but no cigar.

See, the problem with complaining about having your IP (intellectual property) stolen... is that you have to legally own it, which requires a patent. If you don't patent your inventions, as Tesla learned, then they can be easily appropriated by others. But to patent it, you also have to disclose the details of how it works and if it is safe. Woops! Something no hero or villain ever does. So really, they have no cause to complain. You can't have your cake and eat it, too. Either you stick to your guns that the tech is only for your own use, and thus have no legal recourse when someone copies it, or you follow legal channels and be boring and normal. :duck:

Anyway, just a bit of a mental nitpick with comic-logic in general.

Or wait till Equestria's version of China copies it, no matter what you do, and then what can you say? Nothing. China's gonna China. Then they'll subsidize it and sell it back to Equestria on the cheap. :raritydespair: And everyone will have the Chinese-knockoff Iron Pony armor anyway.

Twilight as the Sorcerer Supreme? By the Adroit Adam's Apple of Aggamoto!

Anyway, this is fun! Avengers was and is one of my few true favorites in the fandom. I remember fondly helping and being there with Kooler on spacebattles while he wrote it. Good to see it lives on in the hearts and keyboards of others!

...and Full Metal Rarity. I'd buy that for a dollar.

At the very end there, I almost... almost... suspected Luna might call them Sentinels and be done with it. Not enough purple, I guess.

Cool stuff. Guess the avengers are going to be growing soon! Rescue and War Machine! (er, iron guard)
