Why is there a chapter, when it is a one-shot?

Candance, or, rather, Chrysalis

Oh, I'll bet she can dance... :unsuresweetie:

And as usual, great job, Bob. I only wish I could write as half as much as you do.

Hm... *Reads this and the Sequel*
Uh, threesome... yeah, that's a possible next and final installment for the trilogy one-shots.

Kind of hard considering Shining's dead.

Goddamnit you fucking tease it could have worked GODDAMNIT FUUUUUUUUUU- :flutterrage:

But seriously though, I'm so bummed out by this ending. It could have worked, and it doesn't seem that difficult to me to understand changelings. Goddamn xenophobic ponies. More diplomats are needed in their world. Still, great story, very heartfelt, 4/5 and all that

Excellent work once more Bob. The feels this gave me, such selflessness from Chrysalis.

Who said it needs to be a sequel of the sequel?
It can be in between somewhere in the universe or maybe Shining Armor given life once again. All possibilities are endless and limited only to the writer's interest.

Huh... That was kinda sad... I feel pretty bad for Chrysalis.

Mate, I Co-wrote this and the other one. Unless something major changes, neither one of us has any sort of want to bring Shining back. :rainbowhuh:

I wasn't correcting you on a language issue, I was just saying that there wasn't much of an interest from either of us to do something like bringing him back. Though we have been talking about one more in the series, so stay tuned for that. :ajsmug:

In the beginning, Rainbowbob wrote a clopfic...

And it was good.

Derp here; This princess-to-be had violent and rose streaked hair.

I feel bad for Chrysalis i kinda have the same problem here with a girl i know i'm a swell guy but.... It feels off as if something was missing. Gad-dammit High-School Crush

Well-written and surprisingly heartwarming. Very nice!

Did not expect the sad end. Good writing, greenthumbed!

Awww... Well, it's still an excellent story. Maybe write a version where Chrysalis and Shining actually go through with it?

Hmm... I... fuck. This actually bugged me a bit.

Chrysi nooooo! :fluttershbad:

Why? Why did you give him up!? :fluttercry:

I love this story. Not many can make me cry, but man. Bob managed to do it. *slow clap*

I would love to see were this story goes

This... Isn't really a prequel. This takes the premise of 'gift of eternity', and, indeed, the canon one and spectaculary throws it out the window. And it is glorious.

Do continue. This is interesting. And do not try overly hard to bridge it with canon, or the first 'gift'. It's that much better this way.

On a side note, how are you so good at this?

Wonderful! An excellent story that blends both great clop and excellent storytelling. Good job!

The spawn of love, passion, and pain. One of the greats that deserves that small bit more than it has. Thank you author, for making this.

Oh and regret! Don't forget regret.
Huh, thank rhymed.

Well, frig. Now I feel bad for Chryssi! Well, here's fav for you!

So much to say...

Alright, alright, give me a moment.

First, let me say that I love this story. Usually when I read stories like this, I usually skip all the clop, since I feel a bit embarrassed about it. I'm an odd person...I love passionate scenes (I just...the feels.), but when it actually comes, I get all shy and bashful. However, with this one, it captivated me, considering you get sucked into their situation and find the scene necessary. The emotions build up for it was just perfect in my opinion. How such friendly exchange transform into lust then to hatred and sorrow, and finally to something heart-felt...until sorrow again in the end. It was all such an emotional roller-coaster, but consider that a good thing.

The characters...It might just be me, but I thought it was pitch perfect. Usually others have Chrysalis being all spiteful and evil with no redeeming qualities (not all, just a lot). But, in this story, there is more depth in her, she has TRUE feelings like any other being. She is mostly misunderstood because of her goals, which are bad on one side (Equestria) and good on the other (Chrysalis's hive). No one bothers to see the whole picture, that not everything is so black and white as they think it is. And, despite Equestria being a blast of color, a lot of their morals is black and white, not bothering to understand the entire picture, or in this case, the other creature (pony, changeling, etc.). This story even shows how single-minded the Equestrian government is, since they don't bother try to make peace with Chrysalis's kind. It's basically like the Europeans' views on the Natives in the Americas. But, anyway, Chrysalis's character grew on me. She seemed so conniving in the beginning but her personality softened as we gotten to know her and even her exchange with Shining Armor.

Oh, yes...Shining Armor.

I just loved him in this. He was in character, no doubt about it, but you added something else to him that I particularly loved. You added a quality, which is basically the ability of having an open-mind. Sure, he was angry once he realized it was Chrysalis than Princess Cadence, but who wouldn't be freaked? The enemy is in the Kingdom, the very Kingdom you are swore to protect! But, instead of ignoring her words and continue to declare his hatred, he listened to her. He saw another side of her and didn't keep his mind close. Usually the characters in MLP are usually stubborn in their ways (well, not Fluttershy, in the Discord case, at least.) and usually point out, "Me good. You evil. Grr.", the only time the show addressed this was with Maude Pie, since she was so different from them and judged her too quickly. So, it was very nice to see Shining in this light. It was quite fitting and it makes me appreciate the Stallion, now I can only wish the show would dive into Shining Armor someday...And, get my Big Mac episode, darn it!

But, the most effective moments to me were Chrysalis and Shining Armor's love making and the ending. The love making because it was a respond of their new development relationship. It showed both the pleasure and love between them, and it's good to know that they made each other feel delight during their time together. Like I said before, the situation sucks you in and you gave the audience what we wanted, a passionate love scene (Plus, dat BJ...boy, was that descriptive). Then, there was the ending...it was like you went on a journey and realized the journey had to end at some point, causing you to feel sad. That was my feelings towards the end. It was very depressing, because Chrysalis sacrificed her potential happiness to let her new-found love be free and safe. And, even when Shining got what he wanted (a date with Cadence), he still was effected by Chrysalis, even if he can't remember her. It was sad but intense, especially when Chrysalis moved forward to continue her future plans.

Overall, I loved the story and I think it was a wonderful one-shot.

Exhales slowly and sadly I'm by no means an emotional person what so ever, most of the time I am completely devoid of emotions, even at funerals of my close family members... There has only been two fan fictions that have even made me feel anything at all... This is one of them, the other is the My Little Dashie fanfictions (yes I count all of the My Little Dashies as one fanfiction)...

This was a real switch up, BRAVO!

........ this... this broke me man:fluttercry:

Chrysalis tilted her head, batting a finger curiously at the hanging diamond earrings she wore.

“How much gold did you throw away for these, Cadence, dear?” she questioned. She paused, giving a small rub to her throat.

“It wasn’t my money, so it doesn’t matter,” she answered herself, her lower, nearly snake-like alto voice gone, instead replaced by the well enunciated, majestic tone of Princess Mi Amore Cadenza. Or, Cadence, as she was more often called by the public.

Okay, let me just say this. I loved the heck out of this scene. It's surprisingly rare to see how Changelings actually shift to look like someone else, and even rarer to see them getting into character. This was a rare treat and I loved every bit of this particular scene and wish that more fics had scenes like it.

Overall, though, this just broke me up. It's deserving of a tragedy in my opinion-Chrysalis and Shining got so close, but ultimately Chrysalis sitll had to shut everything down.

Awesome story.

Omg that ending though ;-;
this is amazing!!!

Poor Chryssie. :<
