I really like this story. The scene jumps - such as with the screaming - are very well placed, as is the description of Chrysalis's starving, the direness of her situation, the tryst, 'Chryssi', and... alright it'd be quicker to say what I didn't like.
What I didn't like: There aren't more chapters.

Chrysalis' eyes widened in shock at the waves of intense hate that suddenly began to roll from the alicorn, "What?! But... you're the Princess of Love! How can you harbor this much hate?!"
'Cadance' began to shimmer, form distorting and shrinking, her voice changing as she spoke, becoming a quavering, manic masculine tone, "Oh Crysalis, you silly arrogant insect." The Princess was gone, in her place stood a grey earth pony with a stark white, raggedy mane and tail, wearing thick green goggles. On his flank, a strange helix Chrysalis didn't comprehend was pictured. "You don't think you're the only creature that practices deception of the eyes, do you?" the sinister-feeling pony chuckled mirthlessly, cruelly.
"Who... who are you?" Chrysalis whimpered.
"Helix Splice," he answered coldly. "And that is last name you will ever hear."
The guards found her mutilated body some time later, dissected and displayed like a foal's biology project.
(And that's what happens when my characters encounter changelings...)

But I like the story, premise, A redeeming thing for the story, Chrysalis AND Cadence to get it on a romance with Shining... Or at least Chrysalis.

I enjoyed most of this, though the Twilight/Cadence thing came out of nowhere and fell flat. However, it was mostly a background detail anyway, just another nail in the coffin of the main character's marriage.

The affair plotline felt weird and forced, though I get running with ideas just cause. Also it felt weird that Shining Armour was not more annoyed about the mind control thing.
I liked the overall story though, so have a like and a favourite.

Chrysalis is awfully lippy considering she's speaking to the mare that decides if her species continues to exist or not. I mean, Cadence could kill her by accident with those anti-magic wards and Chrysalis just keeps making smart-ass remarks and mentioning the time she did Cadence's husband. Let me put it this way: if you were stuck in a room with someone that hated you, and they're holding a gun, would you act like Chrysalis is in this fic?

She's fucking her husband's sister. That's really not a minor detail. That's the kind of thing that often ends with someone getting arrested and a coroner present. Granted, Shining seems to think that screwing the bug monster wasn't a big deal, so maybe he'll just continue to be out of touch with reality if he ever finds out.

I'm very disappointed that Cadence is carrying out an illicit affair with her husband's sister, considering she's supposed to be in love with him and she just casually betrays him like that fairly constantly. Doesn't sound like something Cadence would do, not to mention Twilight; she's definitely not the kind of girl to stab her brother in the back (especially with all those friendship lessons she's been learning). As for Shining Armour... well, he was under mind-control, though you were pretty vague on how the whole thing worked. He's also incredibly, strangely fine with everything, including the whole brainwashing and rape by fraud.
Still, there are certain details that make me unable to enjoy stories and this affair was one of those.

Sorry for the late response, not sure if I got this in my notifications. Anyway.
The problem is that the story treats it like a really minor thing. Shining and Cadence have a brief conversation that boils down to "I'm not happy you had sex with a bug monster that trapped me in an underground cavern, but the plot demands that I only get kind of angry about it" and that's it. No tearful breakdown, no furious "well I'm cheating on you with your sister," nothing.
The big issue I'm seeing is that the characters have to do certain things for the story to go where it's going to go (Cadence has to accept the changelings as refugees, has to agree to go with Chrysalis, Shining has to be okay with this), but the author can't/won't stick to having them behave in a way that supports that. As I said before, Chrysalis is incredibly willing to take cheap shots at Cadence--like the fact that Chrysalis screwed her husband repeatedly and knows about Cadence's affair--despite the fact that Cadence wanted Chrysalis dead before she even knew these things and doesn't believe the changelings are worth saving. I almost get the impression Chrysalis is trying to make Cadence abandon the changelings to extinction. She also seems to think that threatening to have her changelings all turn into Twilight and describe the affairs with Cadence is helping her case when all the shapeshifters in question are hibernating and will stay that way until the mare being threatened saves them. So, Chrysalis is suffering brain damage or something.
The weird Twilight/Cadence stuff is also a bit out of place but maybe it will become important later on, so I don't know there. Right now it just makes it look like the author is determined to include that pairing but only future chapters can prove or disprove that.

Right, but the entire story set up so far seems to lead into it. The whole story up until this point has been about relationships. Shining Armor and Chrysalis', Cadence and Shining Armor's, Cadence and Twilight's. In the someone is going to end up with someone new or everyone is going to break up with everyone. I mean it already seems like Shining Armor and Cadence are headed towards a break up with the romance inherent between Cadance and Twilight and the new problems facing Cadence and Shining Armor with the Chrysalis fiasco.
You seem fairly adamant about this 'NO ROMANCE IN THIS STORY' thing when the entirety of the story thus far has been about romance with a side of tragedy for the Changeling Empire and maybe a bit of adventure thrown in with Cadance and Chryssalis going off on their own.

Whoah, Shining is so beta that Cadance has to fuck his sister to get some excitement to her life. Now Cadance wonders why everything is so stale when she married a doormat? Girl, you're the one who was supposed to be the princess of love!
I'm almost always sympathic for Shining when it comes to fics, but this? Cady could divorce him and I wouldn't even care. He is even more useless here than he was in the show, which is a feat of it's own.
