So sorry about the long wait, I was busy, and when I actually wrote the chapters, my proof-reader was busy, so the business kind of added up into the long time to publish this chapter.
I hope the dialogues don't feel too artificial, never been good at those. And once again, if you see any mistakes, especially in formatting, please let me know. Thanks.
Did he get stupid? The princess practically confirmed he's good. Why won't he accept the help.

You must take into account that while we know who the princesses are, Peter does really not, so he can't take their words at face value. Another thing is Peter's intense fear of magic, to which he is basically powerless, and also the fear of being controlled (like through magic, for example). He's extremely paranoid in this way, and to him everyone but Paul is basically a big unknown, even Dufus. And we know that Paul doesn't trust Dufus, so Peter doesn't really either, though still much more than Paul.
So it comes down to the fact, that he probably wouldn't accept Dufus' "help" unless his hand was forced by something much greater than his fears. He's stubborn, yes, but in the end he's only human.
Just try to imagine yourself in his boots. Death is certain, the world is hostile and full of forces you're powerless against, your only friend is a teenage gryphon and a dubious entity from somewhere beyond who says if you let him into your body, he won't take control of your body though he would have that ability, there are other strange and powerful beings about you know nothing about... He's in a strange situation and he's not some kind of genius to figure everything out, you gotta give him some slack.
This story is not abandoned. I am just burned (burnt?) out from writing and life in general, and having left finished school and entering the work force I just don't have much time and strength when I also have other hobbies that I enjoy more than writing right now. But I am slowly, slowly working forward. I'll finish this story even if it's the last thing I do.
