Rainbow dash is my favourite pony. I hate seeing her die. But I still loved this story. I will add it to my favs and upvoted it as soon as I post this comment.
I really hope you say yes... Could you do an epilogue? Just to see how life goes on without her, how everypony is affected... Stuff like that. It would be really nice if you did. Anyway, loved this, but I still had a sad smile at the end, because it was so beautifully written.

Umm, Even Q at his worst would mourn the death of Picard, as it stands the shows makes a case for him being an impish mentor type. He still has fun in Chaos but seems to legitimately enjoy the girls being friends. I think this would hit him hard, even an unreformed Discord wouldn't want someone he considered a nemesis killed.

Which is why once Discord realized Fluttershy wasn't joking, he got serious. I figured that Discord would assume it was a joke at first (it would be something he would pull, and RD is a notorious prankster). It's why he feels bad that it wasn't a joke and he just made things worse for his only real friend. Maybe Discord should've realized that Fluttershy doesn't ever kid about such things, but then again, he's not known for having much of a conscience. (His first reaction to Celestia and Luna possibly being dead? Make fun of Twilight.)
When you get down to it, a murderous Discord would be a terrifying villain.

3620936 ............don't even think he is even technically capable of killing anyone to begin with. seems that altering a pony into something else to begin with is not always going to work well. if what we see happen with a certain frog hit by an orange spell, beings can survive to a certain extent as something else.
also while he oculd technically make someone's head fall off with his powers............. them being dead would be the natural thing to happen. meaning they would still be alive even if he had killing intent to begin with.
seems to me his power of chaos is a useless killing tool to begin with.

Fluttershy and Rarity probably wouldn't cuss, true. Pinkie strikes me as someone who would cuss if it was a dirty joke. Twilight? Swears a lot in private, occasionally in public when she loses it. I agree Applejack and RD would swear like sailors.
Though maybe Fluttershy cuts loose when she's very, very angry.

I think Discord could arrange fatal accidents, but wouldn't because it spoils the fun. You can't have fun with a corpse. (Kind of the same reason Q would never kill Picard, although he could've easily. Where's the fun in that?)
3675199 diffrence with q and picard is that Q was a god that defied the laws of the universe and even the very star trek series, and picard was mortal.
Discord is still an entity of his universe. his power is chaos, and it is magic and he has limitations. true he warps reality, but he is not exactly entirely unique in that approach. Q and his b reed were the only ones apparrently able to warp reality like that. magic itself is technicalyl screwing with normal things. i mean Twilight once made a frog orange, which is something discord would be capable of.

The world is a weird and amazing thing. I finished this chapter, had a snack while reading an article from National Geographic, and it talks about a storm chaser named Tim Samaras who, to quote you,

Wonderful chapter; you really know how to make a gal break down and bawl, don't you? Well, you did me, but only someone with absolutely no heart or feelings whatsoever wouldn't have been deeply touched by this.
And I feel that I have to make one comment about AJ's parents being dead being only fancanon. I know that Lauren Faust isn't connected to the series anymore, but I believe that she said recently in one of her FAQs that, to her mind, them being dead is canon, and that the two shooting stars at the beginning and end of Season 3's Apple Family Reunion ep is a tribute to them.
Really? Must have been in like the comics or something, I'm sure I'd remember hearing a name like that in the show. Tis a cool name though(big ol' rainbow bridge from Norse mythology).

For those who have ever seen it, the USAF performing the Missing Man formation is, and always will be, incredibly moving, despite simply being a flyby variation. It's not the act, it's what it represents, and it's suddenly hitting Twilight. She'll never be able to watch it again without crying, based on myself and others who have experienced a funeral with one.
