Sylvia Catherine Spoon is more then a rich snob. She is the daughter of a powerful Mafia Don in Manehatten. He had moved to Ponyville to escape the gang violence and raise his daughter in peace. The Spoon Family is so influential they even have; as a personal body guard, a highly trained Changeling spy and assassin, hired before the Battle of Canterlot that made him an enemy of the state!

Mr "Cypher" has maintained his cover, for years. He is hardly "seen" in Ponyville.

But when Silver's great grand mother passes away, her mother chooses to take her daughter and her bodyguard to Southern Prance with her to attend the funeral, thus leaving Diamond Tiara Rich III alone for several weeks without her best and only friend.

When she returns, Silver is spoon fed a warped account of how the CMC tried to humiliate Diamond and capitalize on her pain and loneliness.

Silver Spoon seeks to get revenge on her sworn enemies with as ruthless efficiency as her father would a rival gang. But a chance visit with Fluttershy changes her perspective, sadly though, not before one pony's feelings are almost destroyed. How will she make amends and what part does her shady escort play?

(A sequel to this fine fic by Mudpony The CMC Cheer Up Diamond Tiara and Cypher the blue Spy is my OC, free to use.)

Why she treats her fellow ponies like dirt is baffling.

My guess is learned behaviour from a close source, i.e. 'look in the mirror'.

While Diamond Tiara can not be blamed entirely for Silver's attitude, there is no doubt she is a major influence. But it is possible her bodyguard and parents are also partially to blame.

A Gangster and a Mob-wife can't exactly be the BEST of role models for a young girl. Silver's parents love her dearly and when they're there, they do their best to have quality time with their daughter.

Still being very busy with their respective careers it would be easy for them to miss her problems in school, the early warning signs that would lead to a questionable adult hood. Silver gets good grades, highly intelligent and gets in very little trouble as Diamond and Silver's bullying are mostly done out of ear shot of adults.

Silver is not a bad child but growing up with her father (a powerful and ruthless mob boss) and her mother (a highly successful supermodel that trades on her looks) it's no surprise she develops a sense of superiority and entitlement.

that and she lived an isolated and sheltered life before she came to Ponyville and started attending public school.

There's little that can be added to that except "yes"! I agree with everything in your post. Silver Spoon definitely lacks role models teaching her empathy.

That cover art is hilarious! Good job so far.
