Scootaloo had wanted two things for her entire life: To learn to fly and to earn her cutie mark. It seemed like she would finally have both thanks to Rainbow Dash taking her underwing. But when Scootaloo's special talent is finally discovered, will it be what she hoped for? More importantly, how will it effect her relationship with Rainbow Dash?
Note: This is not meant to be a rewrite of the upcoming episode of season 4. This is an idea I've been considering since I heard Lauren Faust talk about unused ideas she had for the show and I wanted to try and do something along the same lines.

It's a good idea, but here's the problem.
The reason the cutiemark crusaders didn't get their cutiemarks a long time ago, is because of relization. NOt only they failed at everything, they didn't relize anything they were good at. So, if Scootalo doesn't LIKE her cutiemark, then it wouldn't be possible for her to earn it.
BEsides that, great story!
3461051 Here's the thing. A cutie mark is supposed to be what will make a pony happy in life. But it is possible that it isn't what they want, per se. Say a pony wants to become an actor, but they are pretty good at painting and even enjoy it, but they never really try to do anything really big or serious with that skill. Instead, they spend all their energy and time taking acting classes and studying theater, but never get the hang of it. Because of that, they never really enjoy themselves and feel miserable most of the time, except when they casually paint, which brings them some comfort and relaxation. So, if that pony turns their attention away from acting and focuses on painting, they would find they have much more success and fun, and might even earn a cutie mark because of it.

The way I see it is, it's like how Rainbow Dash earned her mark, where hs ehad flown stunts and races before, but only discovered her love for it in the race because she was so engulfed in the sheer joy and exhiliration of it. It's the same with Scootaloo here, being so excited about learning from Rainbow Dash, which she carried into her scooter ride, she finally felt that amazing joy and passion she was looking for.

I stopped editing at the Paragraph where the CMC are listening to Scoots and Cheerilee. Still lots of spelling errors, but it was taking me out of the story to point them out for you. This story would be a lot better if you ran it through a Spell Checker or gave it a once over to fix simple mistakes.
Other than all of that it was a cute fic with a good ending. I loved how it ended, and think it was cool what you did with Dashie.

3492166 Personally, I hope the actual episode follows this idea. If you watch previous episodes, it pretty much solidifies Scootaloo is unable to fly. If they make it where Scootaloo is the flag carrier or whatever Harshwinny wants her for and she uses her scooter to do it, that would be good. But having her learn to fly all of a sudden just wouldn't sit right with me, unless it was really well done and thought out.

Actually, even though I don't know the appearences, the talents are pretty obvious. Sweetie bElle is a wonderful singer, her name agrees. Becasue of Apple Blooms building talent, I was thinking her name might be related to something like "bloom" as "create"
