I loved the stress ball scene--I really must get one...
The segment with the king's prayer was so beautiful--and this chapter was brilliant in general, it reminded me of Tolkien and L'Engle, particularly the end of Wrinkle in Time.

Um, so if you noticed this has been on hold for a while, so sorry 'bout that! :( Got really sick, and then I started writing/developing the characterizations for the upcoming Crystal Empire Redux, so I had to kinda go back and "streamline" this story (or at least all of the unpublished chapters) to fit The Crystal Empire... um, now that I'm coming back I really will try to get back up to my usual 1 chapter a week, let's see if I can really do it! ;D However, sadly, I've come to realize that The Crystal Empire Redux (set to be released sometime, i don't know, say after the season 4 finale) will unfortunately be the third and last installment of this my Redux Trilogy... yeah, you know, I never really meant for these stories to cover the show's events all the way up 'til their end {knocking on wood}
Anyways, The Crystal Empire should bring the Redux arc to its (hopefully, sort of) thrilling conclusion, and its end will roughly coincide with the personal transformation of Twilight Sparkle in the show into the princess that she is now. Thanks again to everyone who has stuck by me all this time, I hope you have fun, and, please, stick around, folks... we're not done yet, baby, "real life" ken kiss dis pony'z azz!

So, the chapter was good, but I think you're using italics too much. It's kind of distracting since I naturally emphasize anything in italics when I read. But that's really my only complaint.

As you've probably noticed, I have not written the story for a long time (I apologize mucho mucho po!!); fear not, I have not abandoned it, but season 4 has already kinda "rattled" my canon so i've decided to wait until the season is over, and then I will publish both the rest of the chapters and "The Crystal Empire Redux" (which is currently in progress) before Season 5 as soon as I can safely account for the great expansions in the show's canon accordingly in order to produce a fitting ending to the Redux series.
Um, I'm also looking for an artist to do a commish for the cover pic for "The Crystal Empire"; I need somebody who can do anime/human stuff; nothing too racy plz!
