Competition entry: February Write Off
Well, this was incredibly rushed, and it didn't finish anything like I wanted it to - after all, I still had a lot to write when I hit 10k, and I had 3 hours to remove what I didn't need and end it before the deadline. I really need more than a week to come up with something suitable for a competition, but if it didn't have a time limit, the contest would never end. Congrats to the winners, and good job to everyone who took part.
So welcome to my first flop of a story. I'll try harder next time.

Glad you thought so. It was the best thing ever while I was writing it, but once I'd finished and read it through again, it felt badly-paced, a bit empty and not very well thought out.
Don't worry, though: I'm leaving it up here. Partly for those who enjoyed it like yourself, but also to remind myself of how I can improve and what traps not to fall into.
