Ponies die every day, this is a fact of life... but what if that didn't have to happen. What if you could snatch lives back from the jaws of death? Erase fatal injuries and give those ponies a second chance at life. Wouldn't you do it?

A young unicorn learns that, although there are fantastic powers and spells in this world, everything must come at a cost and sometimes doing the right thing is not always appreciated.

this was actually bad ass

Celestia's fears are justified, I suppose, though I had expected another outcome, such as him figuring that a spell that could be used to take away another ponie's injuries could also be reversed and made more permanent and a pony trying to kill Celestia or Luna could fatally injure themselves in front of them and then inflict the injuries on their targets and walk away unhurt with their mission a success.

Though really I don't see what's so bad about a spell like that (the original) as long as you don't use it on the dead or dying. A broken leg or a spinal injury or having lost an eye when it's only a temporary transition makes that spell look very promising in the medical field. Granted, the caster would feel the unpleasantness of it for a bit, but then it goes away. What's the problem?

I really like this, I liked how you alluded to events that happened in the series and linked them together to make a similar, yet unique story.

Can I, we, expect a sequel?

i do have a second part written and in the process of being edited as well as a few scenes planned out for later installments. at the moment i have just been too swamped with writing and personal projects to really sit down and finish editing a piece. more can be expected when things in my life have calmed down and i'm not taking on more insane side projects :twilightblush:

Wow. This is seriously powerful!

Being quite familiar with the healthcare system and the current affairs of medical ethics, this really resonated with me. At what point does the maxim "do no harm" take priority over the laws of the land?
