This story is a piece. A piece of master intelligence and mastery. I loved it. I couldn't find anything wrong behind the shroud of metaphor and emotion you put in front of me. This story might actually keep me awake some of the night.
Well. I can say, without a doubt, you're talented at short and informative sentences. Not bad at all.
The backstory was explained well, and the pacing kept me grounded. As much as I detest FutterDash, this piece was touching. You seem to have a knack for 'successful' unreliable narration, which is a mark of genius, I must admit. Though your direction was unclear at first, I found myself eager to finish, and find the resolution to what you've created.
My only qualm with this fic was the resolution itself. Buildup was decent, but the ending left me feeling a bit... dry. I'm, of course, taking about RD's uncharacteristic introspection. From what we read in the closing dialogue, RD seemed like an all-knowing sage. And, unless I've completely forgotten, Rainbow Dash is a tactless idiot. Then again, I haven't seen one fiction writer who hasn't broken the rules to suit their own needs. At least once. To be honest, it makes me smile.

I figured it wasn't really fitting of sad or tragedy, because they invoke loss. This seemed like more of a gain.
