Well, it's a decent, if slightly overwrought beginning and it's easy to see how Sunset Shimmer could feel replaced (a friend of mine has the theory that Celestia wanted a third Alicorn princess to represent the stars and decided to pick one by looking through the phone book for portentous names).
Still, I think I'll need another chapter or so to tell if this is going to turn out excellent or not.
Sunset Shimmer takes the fact she's talking to Luna and not Nightmare Moon far too in-stride for someone who freaked out about her not being imprisoned on the moon anymore, though.

Unfortunately, seems like the author has given up on this story. I'm gonna have to un-fave it so my list isn't cluttered.
Seems strange that Sunset is so ready to dismiss Luna, right after meeting her.
(1) She has no idea whether or not Luna is still the Mad Princess at war with her sister.
(2) Even if somehow she thinks Luna is now sane and peaceful, Sunset is still the thief in the night. You can't just walk away after alerting a Princess of the castle of your nefarious purpose.
(3) "I'm more powerful than you will ever be. This is a fight you won't win." Wait, what?? Sunset Shimmer was never delusional in the movie. Oh wait, don't tell me... you're saying she's always been delusional because she thought a school-load of zombies is enough to take over Equestria?
Shame this fic is effectively dead. I would have loved to seen it continued.
