Set after the events of the first Mare-Do-Well story, this fic follows the more intricate and methodical uprising of the caped hero against an unjust despotism; Everfree City. Formerly the Royal City of Canterlot, this society has now become a grim totalitarian world, ruled over by the most powerful criminals in Equestria, who have taken the city through their underhand methods and made themselves the dictators. Mare-Do-Well's only option to defeat a city-wide criminal empire is to use new tactics and to raise the civilian majority against the dictating minority.

A direct continuation from Mare-Do-Well: Genesis. It is recommended that you read that fic first before moving onto this one.

Which was my inspiration, so I must be doing something right. :rainbowlaugh:

Hey, it wouldn't be a tragedy otherwise. And that's what it's meant to be. But it ain't over yet.

3161330 it could still be tragic without killing her as now, MDW is back to being an untrained mare. if instead, Scoots was crippled by the shot, perhaps even robbed of her ability to make new life in place of dieing. then she would be able to train a new MDW, even if shes is confined to a wheelchair for the rest of her life. u had a great opportunity for further character development with her realizing that MDW is becoming everything that she is, a wonderful story could have been crafted by her rediscovering herself with the help of her mare friend, and now that opportunity is completely lost

Hmm.. Maybe that would have been a better way. Still, I had planned this in advance, as it helps bring the story to a neat-ish close. I think I've made enough of a contribution to Mare-Do-Well lore now. I'll leave it up to new writers to come up with stories that will far surpass mine - and I can't wait to see what others can do with their own version of the masked hero.
