Big Macintosh went through a lot when he was young. Losing both parents and becoming the man of the house can put a lot a pressure on a young man.

Seeking relief, he turned to a style of music he'd never heard before. This new interest led him to a girl. This particular girl was a fledgling DJ who also went to the same school as him.

Unexpectedly, he is given the opportunity to finally speak with the DJ at a friend's party.

Big Macintosh has been interested in Vinyl Scratch for a long time. Despite his deepest wishes, he never thought he'd ever get a chance to speak with her.

Now, for the first time, he has a way of communicating with her.

It doesn't take much to create a big party in Pinkie Pie, but this time his assistant and new stallion in town has his say on what activities to plan.

Notably one that showcases sheer strength, something few villagers are confident in.

Big Mac and Limestone meet up after not seeing each other for a little bit after the events of the Friendship Games. In an attempt to get their minds off the world around them, they meet up and go to their usual hang-out spots. It's just that neither of them can have fun with everything that's happened following them.

(This Fanfiction takes place a few years after “The Ending of the End”) With Equestria in a new age of peace, longer than it’s ever seen, many ponies have settled down into permanent lives and relationships. The Apple Family in particular is settling into a new normal. News of a new member joining their family stirs the Apples into reminiscing on the past, and planning for the future.

The only thing more shocking than a letter from their parents is what it says.

“On the Thousandth Summer Sun, Equestria was plunged into a new eternal night...”

For now the fires have been put out and the bodies laid to rest but, the future remains uncertain in this new regime.

Some hold tight the names they carried before the sun was stolen away, others have taken the chance to reinvent themselves completely. It’s a slim chance anypony remembers who you were before the Fall of Night.

This makes your job as a royal census taker quite difficult, especially since your predecessor’s records were, unfortunately, completely lost in the conversion of Canterlot Castle from capitol to penitentiary.

In any case, what better place to start than the crossroads of this new Equestria, a growing district just outside the Old Everfree and New Castle of the Night: Ponyville.

What starts as a plan to raise willing minions for sustenance and protection goes… a little differently than Adagio had in mind.

While hanging out on Hearts and Hooves Day, Spike and Big Mac discussed how the Mane 6 had run off to parts unknown during the more recent Hearts and Hooves Days, including this one. Big Mac asked Granny Smith if she knew anything, but the elder pony claimed to be sworn to secrecy and told him to drop the matter.

Naturally, being denied just made Spike and Big Mac yearn to learn the Mane 6's secret more. Overcome by curiosity, the pony and dragon defied Granny Smith's order and set out to learn what their friends and sisters were up to.

Spoiler alert: you didn't really think a hint to the Mane 6's secret would be here, did you? Har har, har-ly har har!
