Queen Chrysalis, ruler of the Changeling Hives, feels a disturbance. Something unusual, something evil... something festive. It doesn't take her long to discover that the source of this dread is a pony holiday by the name of "Hearth's Warming Eve," and it takes even less time for her to decide what she has to do now: She must steal it.

After a failed training session, Rainbow awakes in the middle of nowhere. By the time she gets home, somepony has took her place, there are ponies out to kill her, and the mailmare suddenly seems to make sense.

Alternate View, a Changeling that is sick of how every other Changeling tells him to "act like what you are, a Changeling". He doesn´t care about what he is or what others say he should be. He´s so sick of the kingdom he lives in that on the specific day when Queen Chrysalis searched for volunteers to go with her to Canterlot to get food, uhm, love, he is the first to volunteer.

Though he didn´t exactly volunteer to actually fight alongside the other Changelings, he did something else. He shapeshifted into the image of a guard.
As Queen Chrysalis was defeated and she and the Changelings were all gone, not so Alternate View.
Still in the form of a part of the royal guard he stayed in Canterlot. And he has yet to be discovered.
However, being part of the royal guard was not the end of Alternate´s plan.

A short time after A Canterlot Wedding, he decides to travel a bit. And that is where he meets some ponies who show him how different things can make you feel better, apreciated, loved, cared for and useful.

Chris has been kept hidden from the world almost his whole life, but now he's got friends and even love. But, as a human in a pony world, how would he celebrate one of the biggest holidays in their world?

Today is the Hearth's warming day, where ponies celebrate the end of the year and unification of the ponies's race. But today is also when Twilight Sparkle learns something important.

When ponies pass away they are sent to a different realm. A realm where Celestia meets them to confirm if they go to heaven or not. But, unfortunately, one of the citizens in Ponyville was teleported to this realm. What's unfortunate about this event is that he was still alive when teleported there.
Now he wants to get out as quickly as possible. But that's not going to be easy.
