I always give others upvotes. · 10:25pm Jul 6th, 2021
Regardless of whether they're offensive of not. Is that healthy for me to do, though?

A lot of people put Bad Day to their favorites but, forgot to click the like button!
Reminds me of me.
Hey everyone, welcome back after a most interesting weekend! Well, maybe it was an interesting weekend for you, I certainly can't speak for all of you. Certainly it was an interesting weekend for those in Spokane, Washington, though, as they had to decide which the greater fire was: The massive, multi-acre wildfires burning up the forest? Or the conflagration downtown that was the Hugo Awards burning themselves to the ground to keep fiction ideologically pure?
I recently learned from AlwaysDressesInStyle
That ratings can be disabled.
I for one find this fantastic!
I'm not one for receiving anonymous praise.
To me personally, it's simply a glowing green or red light.
Not to say, I never upvote others.
If I enjoy the story, I add it to my favorites, leave a like if it's desired and above all leave a comment.
Hey followers/people who added Mane Makes the Mare to a bookshelf! Sorry to disturb you like this twice in one week.
I just wanted to say thank you! This morning, Mane Makes the Mare finally passed 1000 upvotes, making it my third fic to do so. Thanks to everyone who read and deigned my fic worthy enough for your praise. I find coming up with comedy ideas very hard, so I'm glad I was able to release this one.
I recently published a funny/silly short story with a friendship moral.
The moral was shown (not told) that you can be friends and friendly to other ponies, even if it’s someone different and inferior to yourself. The story used Celestia and Twilight (and with slight contrast from Luna) as good examples of being nice, while having an OC as inferior.
Needless to say it got downvoted into oblivion with 100% pure downvotes! (Not a single upvote.)
8th sin did it and he's great and the story is great and the art is... er.... well...
ANYWAY, JUST PLS GO SHOW IT SOME LOVE! PLEEEEEEEEASE.

HOLY COW 500 UPVOTES ON METRO!!! I never thought I'd see the day that I would get so many on that story! I'm amazed that all of you like it so much! Thank you soooo much!
Now, I guess in order to celebrate that 500th upvote, I would like to personally thank the 500th person because they got that special number :D
Of course I would also like to thank every single one of you who has upvoted it since I first posted it all that time ago!
Have a glaring Artyom for reasons!
It makes me happy and I feel appreciated that users here enjoyed reading my story, even though it's for a niche audience and it's not perfect at all. While I'm grateful, my story being added by users to their favourites and/or libraries speaks louder than looking at the green to red ratio.
Thanks, everypony!
Hello! Main fic just hit 300 upvotes, which makes me really happy considering it only has 16 downvotes along with making it my second most upvoted fic. It'll take roughly another hundred to become my most upvoted, but even so that's still much more than I expected it'd ever get. In celebration, I threw some shekels at someone to illustrate one of my favorite scenes (so far).
Ladies and gentlemen, friends and enemies—after four long, long, long years, it's finally happened. ...But the Kitchen Sink has finally hit one-thousand upvotes! That took long enough.
Okay, I'm done now. Return to your regularly scheduled inactivity.
Hey friends! Just wanted to give a big THANK YOU to all of my awesome readers for helping Squeaky-Clean Fun pass 1000 upvotes. That makes Squeaky-Clean the second fic on this account to pass 1000, and my fourth overall. It's lovely to think that a silly clopfic I wrote in a day could have such an impact.
UPDATE: Thanks! Chapter 4 — On the Lamb is posted. The Runaway Bodyguard has a minimum of 49 chapters, 47 completed except for polishing. If I receive an upvote prior to Friday, I’ll release an extra chapter.
On my user page, I maintain two lists of stories:
Stories of Mine You'll Probably Love
Stories of Mine You'll Probably Hate
Deciding which stories should go in the "Love" list isn't trivial. What makes a story good? I can think of several things:
Enjoyment: a random reader would probably like it
Popularity: the story has a lot of readers
I've seen different people do different things with the upvote and downvote counter. I've seen people liberal with them and conservative with them. Personally, I have my own policy regarding downvoting. It's pretty conservative.
I never, ever, ever, downvote a comment directed at me or my stories, no matter how mean, unjustified, etc.
I never, ever, ever, delete comments on my stories, criticism is criticism, I don't want a hugbox.
Hey friends,
I'm going to beat the same drum I always beat -- if you want to be a better writer, you need to do three things:
1. Write (duh)
2. Get feedback on your writing
3. Adjust your writing based on the feedback
Repeat until you're happy with your writing.
Hey guys,
Just wanted to thank you all! A few days ago, Riding Into the Sunset passed 1000 upvotes. This is a pretty big thing for me--even if it is on a story about Sunset Shimmer getting sexually manipulated by a horse--so, once again, thanks for reading!
Have a nice night. Stay safe.
