Why didn’t Princess Luna come to help fight off the Changeling invasion during Shining Armor’s wedding to Princess Cadence?

Now we know – she was having a few problems of her own in an alternate universe where Nightmare Moon ruled unchallenged!

Starswirl the Bearded is a powerful wielder of magic, who for many years has safeguarded the realm of Equestria. From treating different nations, teaching the princesses, to facing horrible magical creatures of the land, he has seen it all. However, on one fateful day, his life would change. During a raid against trappers he discovered three small children and he knew of what they are. Knowing the risk they would bring he knew what dangers they possessed to Equestria.

Yet, how could he do his duty for his country when they were the last of their kind?

Celestia famously believes in redemption and rehabilitation. Only the vilest, cruelest offenders find permanent homes in her prisons. Only those lost and damned, and a singular mare kept captive in relative comfort in a high tower of the palace. Her cell is well furnished, and food is brought to her from the royal kitchens from which Celestia herself dines. Among those privileged few in her lady's service, the mare in the high tower is a curious ghost story. What awful crimes must she have committed? What could she do? What but the power to slay gods could keep one small mare in the quadruple sealed apartments they call Death's Vault?

Nurse Redheart loves her job. She’s the head nurse at Ponyville Hospital, and she helps take care of everypony in town. It’s a very rewarding job, and she loves it very much. At least that’s what reminds herself of every day.

The only thing that Redheart loves more than her job is Feverfew, her pet skunk. So when Feverfew gets sick after the veterinarian’s office is closed, Redheart knows there’s only one pony she trusts with her beloved pet’s care.

Meanwhile, Fluttershy seems to think that Feverfew isn’t the only one with a problem, and that not all ailments are physical.

This story revolves around Applejack. Through her point of view.

As far back as she could remember, Starchaser had marveled at the beauty of the night sky. The sight of those countless twinkling lights, and the gentle moon above, would help her find peace even in the darkest days of her youth. Then one day she met somepony who not only saved her life, but changed it's course forever. A princess who's passion, beauty, and bravery made her the equal of any starlit sky. On that day the young filly swore an oath! She would repay her debt no mater the cost, and serve as a protector of all she holds dear. Her friends, her nation, and her princess of the night! Carpe noctem!

The Princess is gone, eternal night has fallen, and the Everfree is expanding. What will Twilight do?

Rainbow Dash is just lying in the middle of the road. Somepony might trip on her.

Sunset Shimmer is running late on Monday morning, and after she meets Indigo Wreath, she is even later. But maybe missing first period is worth it if it means hanging out with a cute boy.

• Based off the EqG short song "Monday Blues". Technically "Alternate Universe" as a result.
• The title may be based off of "When Harry Met Sally" but I've never seen that and it was the first thing that popped into my mind. The two are in no way related.
• This is a silly ship that I don't actually support, but I felt the need to write this. Also, it's always nice to let background characters have a story for themselves.
• This is less meta than I intended it to be.

Twilight Sparkle's wildest dreams have just been met, and exceeded. Due to an unexpected magical outburst during her entrance exam to Princess Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns, the Solar Princess herself took an interest and took Twilight on as her personal student.

This was a pleasant shock for Twilight and her family. However, a few months later, a less pleasant shock would reach Twilight in the form of Celestia returning to Canterlot with a new daughter, a freshly adopted pegasus filly named Rainbow Dash. As the two get to know each other, Twilight can clearly see something eating at the self absorbed and competitive filly's mind.

To make matters even more confusing, Princess Celestia is now hiding something. Twilight dares not question it, but it is quite clear that Celestia isn't being wholly open with anypony about her decision to adopt some random orphan.

Could the answers have something to do with the cryptic dream Twilight had the night before she met Rainbow Dash?
