This is a fan spin off of Bodyguard!AU Series, with permission from Mono. Prior knowledge of the AU is not necessary to read the story. However, I highly encourage y'all to read Our Illusion as it enhances the story and it's a personal favorite of mine.

Captain Zephyrina Storm has dutifully guarded Princess Sunny Starscout for weeks, enduring the worst hardships imaginable: endless meetings and political tedium. When Zipp notices the toll it has taken on the princess, she strives to make the trip to Zephyr Heights memorable. With the extensive lockdown in place keeping them bound to the castle, she goes to enlist the help of the pony she trusts the most to spice up the princess’s evening.

At least, that's what Rarity used to think.

Dinky considered herself an average sort of filly. She didn't quite have her cutie mark yet, but it wasn't late enough to have any worry about it. She was a bit shy, and a bit bookish, but that was probably Twilight's fault. The library never had a lack of interesting material.

Her mom was amazing, but that was just a given.

She never considered herself a hero, though. She was never particularly brave, particularly smart (though her mother told her otherwise), and she never had any real talent with magic.

So she never considered that such a simple decision could have such a big impact on so many ponies. She never thought that she could have this much responsibility.

And she never thought that it could have this much impact, personally.

That's what she thought, at least.

It was the first decision that started it, yes. But that first decision would have ended up getting her killed. It was the second decision that made her a hero. A hero to the changeling race.

When an ancient Equestrian artifact suddenly tears a hole in time and space, Sunny Starscout gets the chance to meet her idol, Twilight Sparkle, for real! However, not only is Twilight shocked by the changes to the Equestria she loves, but Opaline's ever-present eyes see this as an opportunity to undo her defeat at Twilight's hooves. Twilight and Sunny must find a way to stop the mad alicorn if Equestria is to remain stable.

To make matters worse, the 1000th Summer Sun Celebration happens to be tonight.

Luckily, there’s a solution: Six magical artifacts known as the Elements of Harmony could be the key to Nightmare Moon’s defeat. But how is Sunny supposed to find them when they’ve been lost for generations? And why isn’t the Princess not doing anything about the danger?

In those two weeks, the ponies of Bridlewood, Maretime Bay, and Zephyr Heights have begun to merge, traveling to one another's homes and exploring the new world that Sunny Starscout and her friends have created. To learn about their magic and how the other races have lived their lives all this time.

It is a new age, one that a lone unicorn Shining Star has been trying to achieve for most of her life. One that she and her husband Argyle had worked to achieve for as long as they had been together. It is a dream come true, one that their own daughter had a hoof in creating.

Now, Shining Star travels to Maretime Bay in the hopes of finally meeting the daughter she has been forced to watch grow up from afar for so many years.

A spell has been cast and the events of generation 5 of my little pony may seem quite different now. This is my complete rewrite of the events of My Little Pony Generation 5 from the events leading to the movie through the defeat of Opaline. Strap in, it’s going to be an in-depth and unexpected ride

Once upon a time, in a story we all know and love. There was a unicorn, who shined as bright as the sun, she was a prodigy in magic and Princess Celestia’s prized pupil. One day, she was sent to Ponyville and met her best friends: Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and Fluttershy. She and her friends were able to defeat any foe that came their way, and spread friendship and harmony throughout Equestria... that is, until Opaline Arcana came, she wanted power, all of it, she even stole the dragon magic, and became a Fire Alicorn. Twilight knew she wouldn’t be able to stop her, so instead, she put Ponykind’s magic into three gems, and put an invisi-bubble around Equestria, so that the evil Alicorn could never harm them again, but the seeds she had planted started growing until each of the three tribes took their gem and separated. Until an earth pony, Sunny Starscout reunited Equestria with Izzy Moonbow, Pipp Petals, Zipp Storm, and Hitch Trailblazer in one MASSIVE quest. Together, they created new magic and defeated the alicorn that even Twilight couldn’t beat.

But I’m trailing off, aren’t I? Ahem, you know that story, obviously, but I wanna show you a story, where Twilight Sparkle, Sunny Starscout, and their friends existed simultaneously.
