Scootaloo is now a young mare living through her teen years. After an event in school causes her to break down and fall into a deep depression, she locks herself inside of the old CMC Clubhouse, threatening to take her own life.

Applejack and Rainbow Dash meet for the first time in years. Then they race.

Everything in the current Equestria is all because Rainbow Dash performed a Sonic Rainboom. But what if she didn't. If, for some reason, there was no race. There was no Sonic Rainboom. What then?

This story focuses on, what I believe, is what would happen to Twilight under those circumstances, and hence is headcanon.

They're gone... and they're never coming back.

It was a spontaneous decision, one that I regret every waking moment. At the time, when I had to choose between my friends and all the alicorn magic in Equestria, I didn't answer the question fast enough.

They're dead now, and the worst part? I won.
