Months have passed since the Friendship Games. Twilight Sparkle has been invited to join her new friends, the Rainbooms, for an end of the school year trip to Camp Everfree for some early summer fun. But as they settle in for some fun, strange things start to happen... and it only gets stranger from there on...

What happens when you realize that your feelings for one of your friends aren't quite the same as your feelings for the rest of them? Do you just prefer some friends for others, or is it a sign of something deeper? What do you do with those feelings? Hide them? Admit them? And how will the rest of your friends react when they find out?

Twilight is going to have to do her best to find the answers, because they're anything but obvious.

Yes, this is a story about romance, but I'm trying to use it to explore the relationships between the characters and see how they'd really react if romantic feelings ever did crop up, and how such a development would impact the cast as a whole.

Flash Sentry is having a very bad day. His band has quit on him, he gets roped into helping with things that take way longer than he can afford, the people he helps tend to kick him in the knee, he keeps running into people he'd rather not see for the rest of his life, and his mother is a pain in his ass. Oh, and his food keeps getting ruined.

With all of these problems and more raining down on him, it is understandable that he would get a bit ticked off. Thankfully, there is some good news. No matter how bad a day may get, eventually, it ends, and tomorrow will be a brand new day. Who knows? It could actually end up being the best day ever.

Rating will change with the second chapter.

Sunset Shimmer's ex-boyfriend, Flash Sentry, approaches her one day with a request; he wants to raise money for a bunch of people who lost their homes in a fire, and he would like the Rainbooms' to help him organize a fundraiser. Naturally, Sunset agrees.

However, things become a lot more complicated than either of them could have expected. In-between preparations for games, activities, a bake sale and a live concert, they have to deal with family drama, old rivalries and grudges, a new rogue magic user, and even a kidnapping.

Throughout all of this, as Sunset spends more time with Flash, she realizes that certain feelings are being stirred up. Feelings that she had once simply faked, but are now very real.

But does Flash feel the same way?

No matter how nice a guy he was, Flash Sentry never seemed to be able to stay in a relationship for long. And it could not be denied that this fact seemed to be getting him down. So, one day, while sharing lunch with him, Sunset and Twilight help him to realise something important. That maybe not having a relationship wasn't such a bad thing after all.

"You don't belong here Twilight. You never have, and you never will..."

Twilight Sparkle has always been an outcast. Everywhere she went, people managed to make her feel unwanted in one way or another. She can't say she got used to it, because she hasn't. But she can say that she sometimes knows how to avoid it, and that means being away from everyone. But when the Friendship Games draw near, Twilight is forced into the spotlight, which is far from good. Soon the pressure rises, and the students finally get what they've been waiting for.
And it has Midnight written all over it.
