A high fantasy reimagining of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

Long ago, the cruel God of Chaos Discord ruled over the world. The other Gods overthrew him and Sealed him in the deepest Hell of the prison Tartarus, then waged war for his empty throne. The Goddess of the Sun Celestia emerged victorious, then Sealed six more Dark Gods in six more Hells of Tartarus. The remaining Gods ruled over the world’s lands under Celestia, and as High Princess her reign brought an age of peace.

A thousand years after Celestia’s defeat of Nightmare Moon, the Goddess of the Night, the mortal peoples hold the festival of the Summer Sun Celebration to commemorate her victory. However, on the eve of the Celebration a mysterious organization releases Nightmare Moon from her prison. In response, Celestia tasks her young apprentice, the sorceress Twilight Sparkle, with preventing the unsealing of any more Dark Gods. With the aid of her own apprentice and her five strange new friends, Twilight begins her mission to put an end to the return of the seven Sealed Gods- especially Discord, the dreaded Lord of Chaos.

Fluttershy has been best friends with Rainbow Dash since Flight Camp. It's quite a strange friendship, as no two ponies could be more different. However, what began their friendship is one very, very big thing they have in common: they're both fillyfoolers.
Of course, they're not girlfriends or anything. After all, Rainbow Dash is too adventurous and AWESOME to be tied down or any other mushy gunk like that. I mean, sure they had a sort-of friends-with-benefits thing going on when they lived in Cloudsdale, but that was because they were sort of... well, lonely. By all means the cute, awesome Rainbow Dash should have had tons of friends, but Pegasi aren't terribly tolerant of fillyfoolers, so naturally Fluttershy and Gilda were her only friends, and she theirs. Where else were any of them supposed to get any flank, or for that matter any sort of affection at all?
Of course, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy stopped sleeping together when they moved to Ponyville to escape all that; nobody knows they're fillyfoolers and they have more friends here, so they're not soul-crushingly lonely anymore. However, Fluttershy continues to long for Rainbow, and not just for the occasional fun night; she's in love with Rainbow, and ever since they were fillies she's wanted to be her full-fledged girlfriend.
However, Fluttershy knows Rainbow isn't interested in anything like that and so hasn't told her the way she feels. However, Rainbow decides to come out to their other friends, and at that moment she's up for grabs; Fluttershy finds herself rivaling Scootaloo, Gilda, and Pinkie Pie for Rainbow's affections. Will Fluttershy find the courage to confess her feelings to Rainbow before it's too late?

Twilight Sparkle, younger sister of Princess Celestia's personal student, Shining Armor, grew up listening to her brother's bygone dreams of joining the elite of the elite: The Royal Guard.

Now, fresh out of the Academy, this young mare is ready to prove herself equal to the deeds of the great soldiers she read about as a filly. Too bad the princess she ends up protecting isn't Celestia.

Snowdrop heard the twinkling in the stars in the dead of night. A sound which none other could hope to comprehend and, in her saddest moment, a single tear froze on her cheek. Down in swirled with the snow until it clicked into her hoof... And she heard it. The faint twinkle of a star.

Snowdrop's time came and went like every other pony in Equestria, but she left behind a gift of unsurpassed beauty: the glorious and intricate snowflake. But she left behind something else as well, the ever gentle and timid Snow Sparkle. Sparkle can't hear the twinkling of the snow or the stars, but she can see more than anypony. She can see how they sparkle.

In the heat of the moment, some ponies have a habit of letting things out. Sometimes they are minor things that most just shrug off and forget about in a matter of milliseconds. Sometimes they are things that, once revealed, shake the very foundation of their existence.

Rarity's latest revelation falls into the latter.

Celestia leaves to deal with a foreign crisis, giving her sister a chance to rule alone and become more attached to the modern world. She calls on Twilight Sparkle to advise Luna, hoping her student will be able to draw Luna out of her shell. With two major threats to Equestria already defeated in the past year, it seems like the perfect time to let Luna gain some confidence and experience in the modern world. After all, what are the chances of a third disaster occurring?

Rainbow Dash returns from an evening in Cloudsdale to find Pinkie Pie in a dreadful state after a terrible nightmare. The pegasus tries her best to comfort her friend, but will it be enough?
