The loyalists of Princess Luna long ago, who never ceased to be loyal to her vacant throne during her banishment, suffered under fear and derision for a thousand years. But they never wavered, even if loyalty became only culture.

Now comes a moment, a gesure, a recompense for the pain. So long in coming, so small in scope, and yet... it may be the most vital thing in the world.

Celestia has had enough of half-arsed promises from her loyal subjects. It's time to wear a different hat.

Princess Luna despises answering suits. It is a tedious task of thankless misery, mostly consisting of greedy nobles quibbling over contracts, love-hunters seeking her hoof, and complaining idiots wanting ironclad judgment. But in one instance, of all the pestilential inanity and miserable horribleness, she finds one pony that wants nothing more than sound advice. And with her personal maid Lime Sherbert, she will deliver it, and more.

Just an excuse to use more of English Renaissance Luna, and to include Fleur, with Lime along for the ride. It might not make sense unless you read my earlier Luna stories.

My name is Celestia. This is a kind of log, an epistolary detailing various portions of my experiences throughout my long life, and several analytical reflections that come to mind at times. Most importantly, it is a collection of personal thoughts as I struggle through my eternal life's hardships.

Now that my purpose has been discovered, I have decided to share these entries with everypony here; perhaps my own shared introspection over my lifetime could provide an alternative way of thinking to some. If not, then I hope I did not bore you. I realize much of it is pointless rambling, but I have chosen several entries that I believe may be of interest.

Cheerilee's students think she is no fun because she won't join them on a camp out, but when she tries to stop the Crusaders from going into the Everfree Forest, she finds herself "cursed" by the local flora. Confused by her apparent return to youth, Cheerilee must find a cure for her affliction without arousing suspicion.

Luna must engage in a traditional activity. Normally, she would not object. She knows from traditions, and embraces nearly all the oldest ones, from diction to the Royal Canterlotian Voice. But this galls her. She must answer suitors, the finest of the nobles seeking her hoof in marriage, while she has other ideas entirely. To that end, she unleashes the most venemous and caustic comments her ancient tongue can muster.

Princess Celestia tires of constantly being surrounded by decorum, deference, and formality, and decides to take a day off from being Princess. But visiting Ponyville incognito is harder than she expects. Will she be able to fit in and make friends without blowing her cover?

After her students release the spirit of Discord on an official field trip, Cheerilee finds herself out of a job. With no opportunities in Ponyville, the schoolmare takes a job offer in the inner city area of Canterlot's old mining town. Can even she overcome the insanities of her colleagues and apathy of her students in time to pass her next annual review? And who is the mysterious backwards-talking filly following Cheerilee around? Luna's School for Disadvantaged Youngsters will never be the same!
