Takes place after Keeping Secrets.

Rainbow Dash's newly born foal has been keeping Scootaloo from sleeping for the past few days. So when it comes time for Scootaloo to pay Rumble back for getting his help, Rumble decides they should pay a visit to Everfree Forest in order to get Zecora's help. They attempt to go over there, but due to a flight accident over the forest Rumble ironically sprains his wing and is unable to fly. Scootaloo, not wanting to leave her friend, refuses to fly away and leave Rumble on the ground. Now the two are stuck in the Everfree Forest, and need to survive and find a way out.

Post Sleepless In Ponyville-

Rainbow Dash has decided that she is going to spend some much needed quality time with her honorary little sister, Scootaloo. In doing so, she finds out more about Scoots than she planned, and that the filly really is in need of an older sister.

And she will be that big sister.

I'm posting this as an AU, mainly because it deviates from canon just after Sleepless In Ponyville. Plus, future installments will be later episodes that are set in this storyline.

Scootaloo grew up at an orphanage ran by Gerda. The old hag had clipped Scootaloo's wings last time she tried to escape. Now, under cover of darkness years later, she has finally escaped and boarded a train to Ponyville. Will she stop running from her past long enough to enjoy her new life?

A slice of life story that will follow Scootaloo from orphan to daredevil, from the Cutie Mark Crusaders to Dash teaching her to fly, and beyond!

This story is lightly self-edited and I'm aiming for a pace of a short chapter a day. It keeps me busy while my editors work on my other, more "serious" stories

Warning: This story contains way too many cheesy pop culture references, and horrible title puns. They're my guilty pleasure.

Scootaloo is now a little older than the ambitious filly she used to be. Now more mature and aware of the world she lives in, her story is more than what anypony would expect it to be.

During a Family Appreciation Day at her school, an incident causes her to run out of class without warning in a mess of tears. Only when a very dear and close friend of hers comes after her to find that she has locked herself in the safe confines of her house does he find out the horrifying truth as to why she feels so hurt in the first place. Concealed feelings of affection ensue.

Scootaloo and Rumble like each other a lot.

Sure, they hung out from time to time and it's been a little while since they had both promised themselves to admit their feelings for each other (and failed).

Maybe if they tried again, things would work out?

Scootaloo has recently fallen for a certain colt in her class: Rumble. Going against her tomboy demeanor, she finds herself admiring and desiring every aspect of him.

Now, she is going to confess her feelings to him, while trying to not be too awkward in the process. But, for a young filly, that isn't so easy.

Flying. The only thing other than her blank flank that Scootaloo can think of. It has never been easy and she struggles everyday even to hover a couple of inches off the ground. Her role model and idol, Rainbow Dash, has given her every tip and trick she knows. She pushes herself to the bone in secret. But for all she is worth, the coveted flight has never come. As she sets up to take flight, she will encounter three of the worst days of her life only to get more than she ever bargained for.

It's hard being a filly. Always underestimated by everyone, that awful absence of a cutie mark, and living in an impossibly tiny world. In case you haven't caught on, it's the definition of booringgggg.
But the worst thing is that I know my wings don't--and won't--ever get me anywhere. Not like Rainbow Dash. Only on my dreams. No one understands me. Except, maybe, one pony, the only other Pegasus pony without a cutie mark in class...

Apple Bloom's latest idea for the Cutie Mark Crusaders leads to a row between her and Scootaloo, during which she unintentionally makes a harsh remark about the Pegasus filly's poor flying capabilities. Ashamed and angry, Scootaloo turns her back on the Crusaders; but shortly after their dispute, she bumps into a two-tone grey Pegasus colt named Rumble, who instantly feels sorry for her after hearing how bad she is at flying, and the two Pegasi strike up an immediate friendship.

As time goes on, Scootaloo starts to wonder if maybe her feelings for Rumble run far deeper - something that the other Cutie Mark Crusaders have noticed too, and soon, they begin making plans to bring them together. But when Apple Bloom decides to take it to the extreme, she accidentally lands Rumble in mortal danger. Will Scootaloo be able to save him?
