The time has come for Celestia to have a one-to-one lesson with her personal protege, Twilight Sparkle. She is, no doubt, a bright young unicorn and it doesn't take her long to understand the overall concept of the teleportation and transfiguration spell. That is not to say the lesson went perfectly well as Twilight's magic takes a haywire spin and does things unimaginable coming from a foal.

in the wake of a terrible accident claiming Velvet and Night light, Celestia takes in Twilight, Shining, and Spike to raise them alongside Cadence in Canterlot Castle. I present an alternate take on Friendsip is magic where Twilight never leaves Canterlot to go Ponyville, and instead relies on her new family to protect Equestria. I give you, the House of Sun.

Please go easy on me with criticism, I havent written a fic in a looonnggg time. Also Im not quite sure how long this gonna be, I'll at least write up to Nightmare Moon's appearance.

When Twilight first saw her, she thought the mare was beautiful, and she couldn't help but be attracted to her. When she got to know her more, she began to realize that the mare was somepony she connected with and loved. But as date after date went by, the mare got more and more nervous, as Celestia struggled to figure out how she would break the facade to the mare she had grown to love.

Twilight is drawing, and Celestia is her canvas.

Princess Celestia has never been fond of decorum. The pedestal she is placed upon always seemed more prison than palace to her. But it was safe. It helped her subjects. It was her place in that one beautiful constant, Equestria. And so the matter was decided. But when Twilight convinces her that the kingdom's defense requires her to leave her dusty old throne and make friends, Celestia must try to balance her duties

There's one problem, though: Any bonds Celestia makes will have to last an eternity. An eternity the friends she makes them with will not have.

Can Twilight bridge the gap between the old mare's heart and the world outside her palace?

Twilight Sparkle had been preparing for her entrance exam for so long, just to blow it at the end! If only she could get away to a place no one would know her.

Twilight Sparkle wants to reestablish her old rapport with Princess Celestia - the close relationship they had when Twilight was the Princess’s personal student. But life moves ever onward and the connections they had in the past will not be enough for the alicorns to overcome the challenges that lie ahead. To make it through their shared trials and revelations, Twilight and Celestia will need to grow beyond their existing bonds and become much more than faithful student and immortal mentor.

"Stardate: Whatever today is. Since Equestria, and Equus as a whole, I guess, has moved out from under her wing, the mare of my dreams has been lost. Sure, she's literally older than dirt, but nobody seems to want her around. Even when she finds something, it never lasts. Today, I solve that issue."

Equestria no longer needs their princesses, including Celestia. Their little ponies have grown up, reached the stars, and have left the nest. That left four ponies and one draconequus with little to do other than cause mischief. One of those ponies hasn't taken forced retirement well, and another has plans to fix that.

A Sci-Fi Twilestia adventure that a few people in the Twilestia Skype Chat group helped inspire me to write.
