Princess Luna is ready to take on her role as Princess of the Night once again upon the night of the winter solstice. She remains unhappy, though, for her subjects don't seem interested in what the night sky has to offer. Twilight Sparkle must take it upon herself to prove to the princess just how much Equestria loves the stars, and make this the best winter solstice ever.

Right now, I'm in an unfamiliar bed, but even so it feels quite comfortable. I'm relaxed and safe, but I think that's because of the pony laying next to me. It's been over twenty years since I met her, and along with her there are a lot of ponies in the room with me. They're all really nervous and scared. But I'm okay, because she is here.
My name is Twilight Sparkle. I am the Archmage of Equestria, the youngest ever at forty five years old, and right now, I'm laying on my deathbed.
But that's okay.
As long as Luna is here, I'll be okay.

Twilight has a remarkable destiny ahead of her, but first Celestia must let her go.

Celestia returns to a place long abandoned to mourn a great loss.

Uneasy is the heart on which lies a crown of guilt. Luna, formerly known as Nightmare Moon, knows this better than most.

Apologies are in order, for the truth behind the thousand years' exile is at once more mundane and even less likely than the legends suggest. Nearing the threshold of a brighter future, Luna writes a simple letter - and in doing so, attempts to leave the shadows of her past behind.

Everyone has a journey in their life, a place they have to go. A road they must walk. But all journeys must come to an end. Even Twilight Sparkle's.

A science fiction story about how a fantasy world came to be. An alicorn foal awakens alone in a world that sentient life has long since left behind. This story follows Luna through her foalhood in the strange world, her quest for knowledge about who and what she is, and what happens when she finally finds her answers and makes the trip to the beautiful new world that her sister now rules.
