Pinkie Pie comes across a mysterious bakery item. It's the shape and size of a cupcake, but it doesn't look like a normal cupcake. What could it possibly be?

This is a one-shot story I wrote in the period of a few hours. I had a case of writer's block and I needed to write something ridiculous. This idea popped into my head while eating a hostess cupcake.

It's been so many years, sweetie. You've grown so very much, learned so very much, excelled at so very much. You've met a lot of extremely wonderful ponies, all outgoing and pure at the heart, where it truly counts. The camaraderie between you and your friends has made you strong, has made you a better pony, has made you so very remarkable. I'm very proud of you. I've always been proud of you. I will never stop.

So where has the time gone? Seems like just yesterday I was feeding you... but time moves so swiftly, so restlessly. Time is a burden that we all share. I'm sure that you don't remember me, but I certainly remember you. And I love you. I do, dear. I love you.

Your mother loves you, Rainbow Dash...

So if I may, I'd like to make one last shot in the dark here. I want to prove my love to you, because you probably don't believe it exists. Here it is. My proof.

And in order for it to work... I have to start at day one...

The fillies Celestia and Luna proclaim war on each other, and prepare for a battle of stuffed animals, plastic toys and their over active imaginations.

Apple Bloom is left alone and bored while Scootaloo is learning to fly and Sweetie Belle is learning magic. Applejack sees that her sister feels less special because she's an earth pony, and decides to get Pinkie Pie's help in teaching the filly about why earth ponies are so important.

It isn't easy. Anypony who says it is would be a liar. But Rainbow Dash hadn't seen him in so long... so why is it so hard to just... to just say goodbye?

Why can't she just move on?

What happens when you are the only one? What happens when you leave your world, and you are left to wilt like an elegant rose who has had its fun in the sun? I suppose that only I know. I suppose that only I have felt what it is like. I suppose that only I can resurrect myself, and only I will ever come to terms with my being here... so I'll just get on with it.

Scootaloo's rather embarrassed by her Mom. Not because she isn't cool, arguably she's both the hottest and the coolest mom in Ponyville. It's not about the fact that her mom serves on the royal court either, though that doesn't help. Maybe it's got more to do with the fact that the reason her mom is almost never seen after sunrise or before sunset, or because before the Mare in the Moon returned to Equestria, she knew her name.

Or, you know, that her mother is a chocoholic, an embarrassing know it all that's actually lived it all, owes personal favors to Princess Luna, and has the unfortunate job description of 'ruler of the land and day'. Sure, having Celestia as your mom is cool and all, but at the same time nopony can know who she really is. Nopony gets to 'know' her, and every moment is guarded against snooping visitors. And yet, there's still hope for a better day to come. Even when all your mom's enemies and rivals finally come home to roost and ruin your day. It can't be all bad, right?
