Three years before the predicted return of Nightmare Moon. A young Princess Mi Amore Cadenza hears about the tale of the Changelings. Tired of always heeding to the public’s demands, she snaps and turns to Midnight Sparkle, only fully trusting Starlight. When Starlight offers herself in the place of the Royal Sisters, she must adjust to her new life and a new Twilight. Applejack, Twilight, and Rarity have always had a sleepover once a month since their first year as friends. But this time Twilight can't make it, and AJ has something on her mind for Rarity. Will this be another crazy night?

Spike notices how Twilight’s been dodging Starlight’s advances without explaining why. Spike is getting annoyed by this little routine and confronts Twilight on the matter. When asked about this, Twilight’s answer is much more complex than Spike realizes.

Twilight had noticed Starlight speaking more fondly of Sunburst lately, which is not sitting well with her, especially since Twilight and Starlight are dating. Twilight felt the urge to read her diary even if Starlight told her it was private. But she had to know things were okay between them.

Applejack and Rarity have been close friends for ages. However, whenever they were together, Applejack felt strange. Like she's never felt before. It takes her a while to realize that her heart is yearning for the purple-haired fashionista. But she's just a plain old country girl and Rarity's a fabulous, sophisticated lady... This can't possibly work out, can it?

Applejack is out in the rain...

...but Rarity lets her inside.

Rarity is a complicated mare, more than I can realise even now. But even then, I wouldn't change anything. Even with her romantic silliness and lofty nature, I can't help but love her, and this is why.

What with having a job that's demanded all across the nation, especially in big cities, Rarity finds it difficult to live life in a small town. Yet, she's been managing all this time.

Time has passed by, she and Applejack have another child, their daughter has grown up and their family is more than content.

...however, when Rarity comes home from another business trip, the welcoming she gets is far from sweet and calm.

It's rude, and very blunt, but it makes her see things in a whole new light.
