This is a prequel to my Stories in Stone fics. You don't have to read the others to understand this one, but i hope you check them out anyway.

The Sparkles have just finished a year long prank war with Celestia by order of ... pretty much everyone that currently exists and a few who don't, but this filler season brings more problems. Though the battle for Rahs' heart heats up, the cutiemark crusaders kick it into high gear to get Sweetiebelle her mark, Sunset sets things on fire, Pinkie Pie, there's another God Summit coming, an ancent pain in the ass returns, and some pony gets proposed to, all in this filler season of Twilight Gets a Puppy.

This story is a sequel to Flash Sentry Chronicles: The Last Problem

Months have passed since Flash's return, and everything is great in Equestria. Lightning is happily living his life and trying to decide if it's time to take his and Rarity's relationship to the next level.

But before he can, a new threat has appeared. A threat that seems to wield a magic like no other, one that no pony will see coming. With this new enemy demanding the end of Twilight's new reign, Lightning and his friends soon find they are the only thing that can stop them. If you ever met Sunstone when he was but a young colt, you would’ve seen a large grin, two purple eyes full of determination, and an earth pony who could take on the world.

But something happened over the years. As Sunstone grew older, more and more did his cheerful smile morph into an ugly scowl. His enthusiastic attitude gradually capsized, leaving in its stead a disgruntled husk of his former self.

Shining Armor and Twilight Sparkle: Two gifted unicorns that would quickly undermine everything Sunstone has been hoping to achieve, unintentionally turning him into the underdog he never wished to be. Resentment overtaking his better judgement, feeling doomed to be living forever in the shadow of his immensely successful brother and sister, Sunstone has had a lifetime of feeling thoroughly unremarkable.

Unable to bear his inability to stand out amongst his younger siblings, Sunstone vowed to never see his family again. It’s been five years since he departed on a journey to finally understand his true place in Equestria.

Not once has he looked back at the life he left behind.

The Princess, the knight, the farmer, the athlete, the dressmaker, the baker and the animal lover. Together with their friends, they will work to keep Equestria safe for the next generation.

But unbeknownst to them, a dark force has amassed that wishes to destroy everything they hold dear. And as a returning evil also emerges, it will become a threat greater than any other seen before. The end of Equestria may be nigh, unless our heroes call upon the Magic of Friendship one final time.
