It has been a very long time since she saw them last.

Twilight discovers Discord in-hiding - which is strange enough - but the discussion they have causes her to consider the particulars of true harmony, and whether or not a being such as he should be allowed to live freely to retain his part in it.

Queen Chrysalis knows this more than anyone when she had no other choice than to send her only daughter away, and it still hurts to this day. However, after almost two decades of separation, a royal wedding will bring them together at long last. But how will the young mare take this? It has been a few months since Twilight and her friends went to help save the Crystal Empire, and Twilight had to use dark magic to find the Heart. And ever since she got back, Twilight's been acting strange spending most of her time muttering to herself, hearing voices, and locking herself up in her now 'off limits' lab basement.

On an assignment from Celestia to inspect the Castle of the Royal Pony Sisters Twilight hears her friends tell the tale of the legendary Vampire Queen. She insists they stop spreading around such old wives' tales but some things in the castle make her question that belief especially when she encounters evidence that the story might be true during the investigation.

(Set after the Season 3 episode Games Ponies Play)

Twilight Sparkle is Princess Celestia's personal student, tinkerer, philosopher, arcanosmith, and more. What she is not, however, is one to give up on a good mystery. Especially when her attempts to put it off are met with strange dreams and vague hints.
If only she didn't have to do this alone. Well, that's what the young inventor thought.

CURRENTLY GOING THROUGHT A REWRITE

Sunset Shimmer, the prized student of Princess Celestia, is sent to Ponyville to prepare the Summer Sun Celebration. Unknowingly to her, her actual mission is to stop Nightmare Moon. However, she was never meant to be the Element of Magic.

With Celestia gone, Equestria is left unprotected against the mad alicorn. Twilight Sparkle, the faithful student of Princess Celestia, is determined to avenge her master and save the kingdom.

IMPORTANT: While this story was being written, some things in canon changed. That means a few things here are going to conflict with canon. Please bear with me on this.

For example, here Maud is the older sister, with Limestone and Marble being middle twins, and Pinkie being the youngest. Also, the friends Twilight had in Canterlot are not the same ponies that live/visit Ponyville frequently. Because silly canon is silly.

Twilight goes for her exam for the Royal Sister's School for Gifted unicorns But something goes wrong. Follow Twilight as she tries to figure out what happened to her and how it affected her and her family.
